The one promotion we always look forward to is missing...the calendar giveaway which is usually in December. We use it as the family calendar.

I guess I'll have to take my camera, take my own pictures, and make my own this year.

Great to see the folks in the promotion department still think a loud
cheap drunk is a model for your mid-week hockey fan !
Why not take one of those three days and instead of beer, push the family
friendly items like pop, popcorn, pizza and hot dogs.

Michael Jackson night is just another ridoulous promotion that shouldn't be on there.

But I bet it brings out a lot of people that otherwise would not come to a Hockey game. And who knows, maybe they'll enjoy themselves and come back to another game?

Don't think family nights during the week will work due to school etc.

I would love to see them start weekday games at 7 rather than 7:30 however. If they want to keep weekend games later that is fine. Thoughts?

@dbc I think they tried the 7pm start a few years ago and it did not work. Does anybody remembers the year?

I can't remember the year but I think I recall some 7pm starts as well. At the time I know it was tough for me to get to the games by the time I got out of work/school at 5:30. Two hours isn't all that long to go home, get a bite to eat and get there on time when you factor in traffic. At the time I wouldn't go to 7pm Reds games for the same reason. My schedule is more flexible at the moment so I don't really care.

@Jevers I know that promos are to attract fans that might not otherwise attend a hockey game but Michael Jackson? Sure the guy was talented and is widely known but he was also an accused child molester. But maybe they want polarizing figures, after all they've done Bill Cunningham and Obama.

Since it is going to happen, all I ask is the players wear ONE sparkly white glove (to be included with the Thriller replica jerseys that will be auctioned off), the goal horn with "Hee-He sha-mone" and Bad and Beat It get played when guys go to the penalty box.

I do agree except if one thing happens - the return of "Snowbird" and his
famous Michael Jackson dance. Anyone who attended the IHL All-STAR game
remembers him stealing the show between periods !
