CINCINNATI, Ohio – Harrison Reed’s third period goal proved to be the game-winner as the Toledo Walleye (19-23-2-2) earned a 2-1 win over the Cincinnati Cyclones (21-15-0-6) in front of 2,078 at U.S. Bank Arena on Wednesday night.
After a scoreless tie in the opening period, Toledo pulled ahead 1-0 at 8:39 of the middle frame as Todd Griffith caught a pass coming out of the penalty box and sent a wrist shot past Cyclones goalie Brad Fogal (L, 20 saves, 4-3-0-2). And despite sending 17 shots on net in the second period, Cincinnati trailed by a 1-0 count after 40 minutes.
Dan Eves extended his goal-scoring streak to four games as he potted the equalizer just 2:08 into the third period. However, Toledo’s Harrison Reed answered with a go-ahead goal at 8:47 to give the Walleye a 2-1 edge. Thanks to a 40 save night from Toledo net minder Alec Richards (W, 40 saves, 1-0-0-0), the Walleye were able to snuff out Cincinnati’s comeback hopes and sealed a one-goal victory.
The Cyclones Radio Network Three Stars of the Game are as follows:
First Star: Alec Richards (40 saves, Winning Goaltender) Second Star: Harrison Reed (1 goal for Toledo) Third Star: Dan Eves (1 goal for Cincinnati)

| The irony of people yelling "Shooooot" stone880. I'm not saying the Cyclones aren't successful when they have high shot totals and I know what The Great One said about not scoring on shots you don't take, but this team seems to score more when they are patient and work for the right shot not just any shot. |

Yeah - I'd agree with Elvis. They had over 40 shots Wednesday. I think they'd have been better off with a few more quality tries, instead of just peppering an AHL goalie with 'practice' shots.
Our one goal from Eves seemed to just beat him glove side, but he probably should have had that one, too. |

What I meant about "Shoot It" is our fabulous power play. We come down and pass it ten million times until the puck is either intercepted or goes out of the zone. End result is we never get a shot off. This team hates to have movement in the area right around the goalie.I'm not talking about the statue player in front of the goalie but the skaters that curl up on the sides of the net and can take a pass from the opposite side and bury it. |
