Who saw this on Friday morning?
I can't be the only one that thought it was a missed opportunity. Instead of showing the speed of the game and how hard it is for goalies to do what they do, they took it REALLY easy on him. Not sure if that was Fox19's idea or the Cyclones but it was a mistake.
Yeah, I get the whole "lets not try to kill Frank on live TV" thing but flipping 10 foot shots into his glove to make him look good was silly. Shouldn've been at least one slapper to the crotch. He was padded and would have been fine.
Just my opinion. |
Yes, I grew up playing hockey... In Alabama. |

| The Cyclones name, logo and where they play was seen and heard multiple times during the FOX19 morning news show. Firing the puck past a media personality isn't the key message for viewers. Brand recognition is. The Cyclones accomplished that with this feature. |

Exactly, while it would have been great (and probably better) if they had him rattle off a bunch of slap shots, they got a short segment with the name, logos and brand out there. I was watching it live and was really hoping they would have took Rob's suggestion to have em fire off a bunch of shots in a row. I wonder why they used Luciani though. He is/was still somewhat injured - though the wrap is gone - but if they got something like Aubin as the captain, or another big guy like Vaive or Pelech who could take harder shots.
Either way, im glad that Brunker and company have done such a great job getting the brand out there. I believe they are averaging right around 4500/game. I expected a better turnout for pink the rink, but I suppose people were afraid of the little bit of snow we got. |

The feature was done on a game day. Players that are going to be in the lineup don't typically do appearances on a game day, especially ones done in the 7am to 8am time slot. |
