I will be enjoying the 63 year old arena March 3 when I go to watch the Cincinnati Commandos take the field!

Cincinnati Rollergirls open their season March 10th too. It's a good time. Cheap beer if you're into that sort of thing.

I was punched by a roller derby fan once for referring to the sport as 'Lesbian NASCAR'.

I stopped by the Gardens the other night. The building doesn't look a day over 62.

The new color of the walls around the seats brightens the building up a bit, but the eggplant and jade colored seats need to go. They need to be something more vibrant. Royal blue seats with silver walls would look sharp, or yellow seats with royal blue walls.

Still a great place to watch a game. Hard to find a place with better sightlines for hockey.

I prefered the Gardens over US Bank for hockey. I'm a painting contractor, I remember my Porter Paints Sales Rep telling me about working on an account with the contractor that painted the Mighty Ducks color scheme on the walls and seats. Too bad there isnt a major sports tenant in the building to make renovations necessary. I've been told they no longer have A/C at the Gardens.

Nope, no AC. Last time i was there for a roller derby game they had a couple industrial sized fans, but it didnt really do much. And it wasnt even a packed house. Not sure anybody would sink in alot of money for a renovation for a full AC and new paint/color scheme like what Donnie mentioned unless they had a money making tenant coming in.

Hara Arena in Dayton is 15 years younger than The Gardens and looks 30 years older.

I didnt know they were always without AC there. I've only been in there for hockey and other events during the fall/winter.
