Thank who ever came up with the stupid schedule w/ massive home games in February and mainly road games in March. Been so long since we saw the team play the casual fans probably won't come back. Wouldn't be surprised to see 1000 or less on Wednesday.

The schedule didn't help. Opening up with a very light schedule with all road games wasn't ideal. It wasn't driven by lack of availability of US Bank Arena either. The Cyclones and almost every other hockey team draw much better after the first of the year, so that's probably why things shook out on the scheduling front the way that they did.
The strategy has worked out well for attendance. The team will end up ahead of last year's totals.
As far as Wednesday goes, I wouldn't be surprised if over 75% of those in attendance know (or care) what the record of the team is and who is in the running for playoff spots. The important number to most of them is 1-as in the price of a beer. I'd think that those who have an interest in the team would be there given the playoff implications of the game.
There hasn't been a home game in almost 3 weeks, the weather is great and the beer is still cheap, and a lot of the girls will still be pretty. 2500-3000 is my guess on the crowd.

On any given night more than 85% of the crowd doesn't know and doesn't care what the record is. It's a night of entertainment. Only way a team can succeed here at the minor pro level is to market and promote it that way. The original ECHL Cyclones knew what they had to do to put fans in the stands, and so does the current ownership and management team.
I hope I'm wrong but with the long layoff from games, a good weather Wednesday night and west side driving chaos (6th street), don't expect much crowd. One good thing is NIT games on Wednesday night. Bigger question might be what Cyclones team shows up !
I'm not real keen on how this weekend's schedule stacks up. That's a lot of back-and-forth travel for three games in under 72 hours. "Bus Legs" and fatigue could be a problem. Let's hope the training staff has a good regimen. Every point is huge.
