Robert Mayer is on the bench tonite in Montreal.

Mayer joins Jeremy Smith, Cedrick Desjardins and Brian Foster and Mark Dekanich as ECHL post suspension Cyclones goalies to be on an NHL game day roster.

Look forward to Dov Grumet-Morris to join this list next year.

It's highly ironic that the only goalie who ever really projected to be on an NHL roster hasn't made it there.

Only if someone signs him to an NHL contract and has injuries that necessitate calling him up. Doubtful anyone would sign him based on age and limited upside. But you never know. There are worse goalies with NHL contracts in their pocket.
