PROMOTIONS: This weekend (Jan. 5 and 6)--the Cyclones have two of their biggest promotions of the season. That weekend, the Reading Royals are in for 7:30pm games both nights. Friday (Jan. 5)--it is Rich Franklin Night, when the UFC champion visits. Saturday (Jan. 6)--Denny Hamlin, NASCAR’s Rookie of the Year, stops by. Fans will have the chance to be chosen to meet these celebrities. For fans who do not want to leave meeting the guests by chance--there is a special dinner that they can purchase tickets to and be assured of spending time with them.

Hockey is life. All the rest is just small stuff.

Easily the biggest two promotions of the year (except for opening night and Dionne's retirement). NASCAR is always a huge night, but they will need to try extra hard since the driver this year is a rookie and we probably only be recognized by the hardcore NASCAR fanbase. Last season's worked out great because with having Matt Kenseth Home Depot gave away tickets.
With all of the rising fans of UFC (especailly teenagers) Rich Franklin night could be big but I have to worry about all of the events and appearences he has already done in Cincinnati. We'll see.
Most importantly, with the North Division at a dead-lock tie for first (Cincinnati, Reading, Dayton) at 32 points, we need two big wins over the Royals. |

Hardcore NASCAR fanbase...dude, who DOESN'T want to see that much mullet at a hockey game?!  <- we need a smiley with hockey hair, dammit! |

raptorov - I think, but am not positive, that you can buy a set of cards at either the merchandise stand or Fan Club Booth.
In other news, as explained on the Starling poster they gave away tonight, the rest of the Wednesday games will be "Wet Wednesdays" with $ beers to replace the Thirsty Thursdays. |

The bad news; we are last in the ECHL in attendance
The good news; We were better than two other HONEST teams last night
We had an attendance game that helped RAISE the Season Average
Lets stay on this run and have another great crowd night tonight.
I have an idea for season ticket holders and Cyclone fans alike for Wednesday's
game.If everyone buys one extra ticket for Wednesday along with the free one,on
Wednesday you can redeem your regular ticket and the other two and we get three
towards the count.1500 would be much better on the books than 500! |

Great to see an announced crowd of over 3,000 tonight. First time since opening weekend I believe (although the WWE night against Dayton may have been 3000). Could have certainly been better, but for not even a big name driver (I'm not NASCAR fan at all but had never heard of a Denny Hamlin) 3,000 is fine. It kind of bothers me how last night was only 2,100-something though, didn't seem like there was that many less than tonight.
How we blew the game in the last minute is beyond me but hey I'll take the point and stay in first. Can't win 'em all (9 in a row) at home at USBA.
We can never seem to win IN Toledo though, which is where we play tommorow and we are going to be tired. At least Dejardins will be playinh, although I would have played him tonight and let Morris play away tommorow. After all, Dejardins just came off a shutout and has been 8-0 at home, but oh well ... |

That was a killer losing the lead at the end.The combination of Dov being
slow on the react and the defense not being it's usual agressive nature.Add
that to the horrible power play all night,it was lucky we made it to the
shootout.I stil don't like going first because now the pressure is on the
goalie,not the shooter.It was dumb having three straight shooters come straight
down the middle and go five-hole with easy stops by Reading.It was great seeing
the big crowd.Too bad they didn't have his car to roll out on the ice. |

Seemed like that either Reading got more agressive, or the Cyclones gradually lost their energy, judging by the reversals in shots on goal period-by-period.
It was a very entertaining two game series, and seeing some people in US Bank Arena was encouraging. Boy they sure have a lot of games in almost as many days this stretch! |

| reported attendance from nascar night 3,037. maybe we should have more nascar nights. i mean it fills the seats with people that have little concept of right turns and staying seated until play stops, but it would be nice for attendance. |

What is worse,people walking up and down the aisle with concessions or some group
of yuppies standing in the middle of the crowd talking on their cell phones!At
least the aisle people are moving.We had four people standing ten seats in from the
aisle talking on phones and spilling beer on everyone while play is going on.Only
after we complained at them did they sit down.It can get entertaining watching some
drunk girl in high heels trying to walk down steps with two full beers!Hey girls,why
not drink off a 1/2 inch of beer from each so you don't end up wearing it  !!! |

| cell phones! just do what section does....anytime anyone in the section is on a cell phone, everyone yells, screams and carries on making it impossible to keep a conversation going. try that a couple times, eventually they'll get the point. |
