A sleeper pick for the vacant Montreal Canadiens GM position is Blair Mackasey, who is currently the director of player personnel for the Minnesota Wild.
Mackasey worked for Hockey Canada before joining the Wild organization six years ago and lives in Montreal. He's been a player (one NHL game), coach, scout, player personnel guy, giving him a well-rounded background.
People in the Wild organization speak highly of Mackasey.
