I was a bit surprised. I always liked the way he played the points and how he could find an open shooting lane. Solid player. Not sure why he was moved when the team seems short on D at times and then was also made a healthy scratch on Monday. Apparently, Ellington is good on the PP. And since the Cyclone PP is pretty poor, he may be here to jump start it.
I liked Maury, had a pretty good shot. The new guy looks to be a solid pickup, assuming he can live up to any of his potential that got him drafted in the 2nd round.
Guess I am odd man out. He has been my whipping boy all year. Played much softer and slower than last year. His -7 +/- rating is worst on the team ( +/- is for even handed goals only and the team itself is + 12) while Chris Reid leads the team at +14. He has made some dreadful plays in his own zone both passing and positioning. He was a healthy scratch in Kalamazoo the last game even though we are short defensemen to start with. Posted a few days ago that we have given up a lot of shots recently and this could be due to that. In any event hope Ellington helps.
