The 4gaa against Trenton is a stinker that will probably keep him from the honour.
On a side note, Florida's Jose Theodore is out indefinitely with a torn groin that may require surgery so odds are Foster will be gone again leaving Houser for the balance of the season. Houser is more than capable but not having suitable back up is worry some. |

If Theodore is done for the year then its safe to assume Foster is done for the year here unless the Cyclones stay alive long enough to see him again.
Given those circumstances it's reasonable that the team will sign someone above the EBUG level to back up Houser, which will take some pressure off of him, but he'll still be THE GUY from now until ??? With the way he's been playing lately I'm OK with that. Even in the "stinker" against Trenton a lot of those goals were because he wasn't getting much help. He actually looked pretty damned good for the majority of a period when the rest of the team was napping on their skates.

| After reading and hearing about Houser, I hope to get a chance to see him play before the end of the season. |

Foster on the transaction list today.
Clones acquire a defenseman from Wheeling
Nice to see them atop the Conference Standings. |

Not often you can win 4 games in one week. Good news he won 4 games- bad news coach used him 4 straight games with a quality man sitting on the bench. Now has no choice but to play him everyday ! |

| I thought that stinker was going to cost him too. On the upside of all the work he's getting now is that he's fresh. He didn't really see any action while recovering from injury so when you think of it, he's just getting into a groove while a lot of guys might be hitting the wall fatigue wise. |

| There is no need to worry about Houser being overworked. Even if he wasnt injured beginning of the year. He played over 60 and 80 games in the last 2 years in juniors. He isnt an NCAA prospect who played 1-2 games a week. Most goalies want to play every day and get in a rhythm. Foster is gonna be up in SA for ~6 weeks, so all we have is Houser. And Im 100% OK with that. |

Guess the NHL and AHL are all fools then for carrying a second goalie that can at least have spot starts to keep guys from getting over worked. You should write the 30 NHL GMs and tell them they are wasting money carrying a second goalie with potential to play. Tell them to Just carry one and if he is hurt or tired, bring the back up up from the AHL. In the old days each team carried only one goalie and each home team had to have a designated back-up in the stands who could suit up for either side if one of the starters got hurt. They were of the same caliber as the EBUG. Mostly out of shape beer league guys. We can always go back to that system.
Guess if Hauser gets hurt the last week of the year or in the first round of playoffs, we can always go with Rose or try to find a suitable backup then who is in shape and game sharp although he would have had to dress in at least five of the remaining games I believe to qualify for a post season roster spot, so waiting for disaster doesn't seem to prudent to me. Not sure why you want to take that risk though. Rose is half a step ahead of an EBUG and is that what you really want on your bench for the rest of the year and playoffs?? |

Obviously we need 2 goalies on the team, but Foster isnt coming back and if Houser gets hurt, it wont matter anyway. The only point in the rest of the season where it would be beneficial to have a legitimate backup is the 22/23/24. Back to back games is manageable but 3 in 3 is too much. I suppose Rose could get a spot start there but otherwise Houser should be fine physically to play ever game the rest of the season.
When the playoffs start everybody sticks to one goalie (outside of injury) anyway. Neither team has other goalies finishing up juniors/ncaa so we're on our own to find one - hopefully Skalde has been looking for one and has some plans in the work.
