Minor injury. He's expected to be back soon rather than later.
As a side note, we're getting down to crunch time and with the second season right around the corner I think it's time this is brought back up. This time of year all players have their bumps and bruises, some might even be playing with ailments that would keep them off the ice under different circumstances. If a player misses some games with injury please keep the specifics of the injury off the internet. While we'd all like to believe in sportsmanship, there are certain coaches and players out there that might target key players returning from injuries; a player returning from a separated shoulder might be played more physically than normal or player with an injured foot might have his foot hacked at a bit harder or more frequently. So, unless the team offers up the information through official channels let's keep any other information off the interweb. |

Does anyone have any reasonable examples of this actually happening? The whole injury report from this fan to that fan from the cousin of a player on the team to a fan website and then that information being used by another team? I've always been skeptical. I've also been skeptical of any reports by players walking out fromn the locker rooms to the extent of their injuries. I'm here to tell you just because someone walks out of a locker room on crutches doesn't mean a thing. Hopefully other teams are not believing everything they read on a website. nevertheless, i'll go back to doing my part on all the hush hush cloak and dagger stuff.

elvis, after reading my post I realized it sounded a little argumentative and militant, that was NOT the implication. I don't see the harm in warning folks of refraining from posting on an internet site what a fan THINKS he knows about an injury. I'm pretty certain the most folks who post here doesn't get faxed a legitimate injury and prognosis report from the front office, so any info obtained should be considered suspect. Maybe at one time did teams scan a fan site but false information or even planted false information can be just a devastating to a snooping team. My guess is most teams simply stick to the game plan and realize that the information obtained from a fan website can be unrealiable

No offense taken. I recall a few seasons back, we had a guy coming back from a should issue. There was a lot of chat about why exactly he was missing games (I think it was Robo). In any event someone posted he had spoken with him at a post game social and he had a separated shoulder. That info got posted here. Maybe it was just in my head but it seemed like guys were going out of their way to finish checks when he came back. Most of these players all know each other on some level or another, whether it dates back to Juniors or college hockey or just years of playing in the minors and they probably all talk so the info is going to get out there some way or another but why risk it?

Didnt mean to stir anything up here either. I was concerned because I noticed on another forum he was listed somewhere as being "no longer on team". I really think he has been an asset to this team as of late, and am glad to hear he is still with the good guys!!!

elvis, I totally agree. hopefully no one misunderstood me and that I am certainly not interested in the Clones coming out on the short end of the stick because of intel provided by the internet. It seems like 2008 there was a great deal of injury information on this site, maybe thats what you recall, of course there was alot on the site that year. Remeber the pop bottle thrown at the sting ray bus?......brother.

I wont mention any specifics about his injury (though anybody who see's him at the game can see) but he himself told me that he wont be back until the playoffs, and even then its questionable. Same goes for Luciani - though a much different injury. Hope the best for them and if it means they have to stay down the regular season to make it back for the playoffs - so be it.
