Things were not looking good, to say the least. Just when it seemed like a lost cause and we were on the verge of another cowbell invasion, the squad found a way to get it done. It goes to show that winning battles in front of the net and in the corners pays dividends.

Way to go, Cyclone!

Don't forget the "nack of the net". Who would have thought the gamr plan would have eventually been take shots from behind the net. It was bound to happen though, the way pearce was flopping all over the ice, shoot one his way while he was lying on the ground and there was a chance it was going in, latter in the third period you actually saw the Clones taking shots from bad angles. Next time Pearce will put a skate against the pipes. Isn't that basic hockey?

There were a couple of fast and furious net crashes by the Clones last night. In the Blade, Vitucci was quoted as saying the Clones were the recipients of some very lucky bounces. I don't think I am being a homer when I say that I think it was just hyper-aggresive hockey at critical junctures in the game. However, I will admit that in my opinion, either team could have won either game 5 or game 6 - the teams seemed very evenly matched as far as skill, teamwork, and energy.

After watching Pearce Friday and Saturday I couldn't believe they managed to steal those games. He was consistently quick with the first save but kept leaving the net WIDE OPEN getting waaaaayyyyy out of position. The good guys just never managed to take advantage of that.

Yes, I grew up playing hockey... In Alabama.
