Just out of the 1st round and i've read where the Toledo fans were complaining about the Clone fans being rude on the road? I just don't see this happening. Lastly, I used to go to alot of away games, however I just cannot be passionate about Cyclone hockey and take all the hardcore ribbing, light smacktalk is fine, but there is nothing worse then a drunk sarcastic opposing fan smacktalk. Any stories from the road this series and in the end does it really matter? I seen quite alot of trash on the ice after the game but really never seen too much of it at US Bank Arena

Certainly not in Friday's game up in Toledo. Compared to the Toledo fans at US Bank Arena this last game, Cyclone fans were very restrained.

I just wanted to hear a few stories, there is a Walleye fan on facebook that was blaming the Cyclone fans in toledo of being rude, but like I said, I could SEE trash being thrown in Toledo

It seems to cut both ways. On Saturday night, I sat next to the large group of Walleyes fans. Though they were loud and gave me an earful of cowbell all night, they were nice and friendly. They're just into their team. However, I can see how some of their cheers would irritate the Cyclone faithful. At the same time, it's pretty embarrassing that 2 dozen Walleyes fans could out-cheer !,800 Cyclone fans at a home game.
The most annoying fan near me was a drunk, redneck Cyclone fan. He was yelling nonsensical stuff all night. It was really embarrassing to think he in any way represented Cincinnati. He was a lout and buffoon. Ultimately, he was so hammered that he fell backward into the row in front of him and had to be helped out. Poetic justice.
I've been to several games in Toledo and the fans have been fine. When you're in a visiting building, you have to know your place because you're grossly outnumbered and there are enough rednecks in every arena who are more than willing to start some crap. |

I was at the series winner last night in Toledo. The fans really hated Aubin - lots of signs and taunting - but all within the accepted realm of fan behavior. And it was doubly worse for them when he was named #1 star of the game. In the stands, we were excited but polite Clones fans in a school of Walleye but nobody bothered us at all. After the game, the players all showed the usual class and dignity of lining up, shaking hands, and wishing each other well. However, the fans threw some cups and debris on the ice and one dumbass attempted to climb the glass like he wanted to fight the Clones players. Funny how a 20 year-old kid pumped up an adrenaline who just lost a big game has more sportsmanship and maturity than a 40 year-old idiot in the stands. On a side note, they have a really nice facility up there - I may make that road trip again next year.

On the whole it's a completely different crowd up there than what used to go to games at the old arena. You really were at some degree of risk going to a game up there. You are right; now almost everyone is reasonable there. Good natured back and forth stuff. I had a good time there.

I haven't been to the new arena in Toledo yet, but went years ago to a Storm vs. Cyclone game and never had any problems. A Storm fan I knew from a message board actually bought our tickets for us and left them at will call, with my promise of paying him at the end of the first period. We all went out to the bar the Storm players liked to hang at after the game, and took some good natured ribbing from the fans, but nothing obnoxious and all in good fun. Never saw anything that would make me hesitate to go again.

Cycfan-I must say I am impressed. When I went up with the fan club, we had threats of physical violence on top of any good-natured ribbing! Things are much more family friendly at the new arena.

The most shocking was game 5 at home with a group of drunk Toledo fans in section 114 so wasted yelling F this F you giving the finger to Cyc fans in front of kids of all ages to the point security had to come and deal with it. Had the game not been over they were going to walk the group out. But again, this was the minority, not the majority of Toledoites. Never went North for a game. Would have liked to, but we all know there is always a fan or group of fans whose blood alcohol level gets well above the legal limit and loose control. All fanbases are guilty at some point. I blame the fact were human, not a particular team.

We still expect humans to behave properly in public, I'm human and still manage to conduct myself in proper fashion, of course I cannot change other folks actions. The Toledo Blade published a picture of a Toledo Fan trying to climb the glass, or the very least getting above the glass. real nice
