The small crowds during the playoffs are alarming. I can't figure out why the attendance is so low, especially when they're offering the promotional pricing on food and drinks. Other than the ticket price increase and the fact that this is a busy time for families, I can't surmise why the crowds are so feeble.
Also, is such poor attendance a cause for concern regarding the team's fiscal health? It sure seems like they'd need more than 1,700 fans a game to break even.
I've been trying to get the word out to get some more people in the barn. I hope this weekend has a better turnout. |

| I think you will find attendance is down across the league for the early playoffs compared to regular season. The only early sales are to those small amount of season ticket holders among us and they can;'t really do promotions or group sales when they dont even know the schedule. As an example they cant really go out and try and sell group tickets for next Tues/Wed because they dont know if they are really going to be playing. Also with games this Fri/Sat against the same team, there was very little incentive for entertainment buyers to come out in the middle of the week when they can go this weekend. Would love to see 3000 one night this weekend but not holding my breath. I agree that as you go deeper it gets better as the fans move from hockey fans, to entertainment fans to "a happening" fan. |

Unfortunately I have been one of those no shows. I am a full season ticket holder but with a no exchange policy on playoff tickets I am only going to buy at the box office the day of the game.
An unpredictable work schedule leaves me glued to my Cyclones app on game nights. Nick has gotten much better but I wish I was there. I'm hoping Saturday i'm back in time to see the Cyclones bring home a winner. |

| It might have been a wise move to keep ticket prices at regular season rates until the 1st 2 rounds have been finished. There never has been good attendance in the early rounds. |

Higher ticket prices is one of the harsh realities of the playoffs. The clubs have to raise prices to pay the players. Their contracts do not cover playoff pay. |

Just shows how many actual Cyclones fans we have. The honest number is "Slightly Less Than 2000."

The league does not dictate ticket prices. They only dictate that $3 of each ticket sold goes to the league (Bonuses for players playing in the Kelly Cup finals). |

| If ticket prices were at regular season rates for the early rounds, I wonder if they would get more bodies in the seats, thus bringing in as much, or more revenue. For a family of 4, the rise in ticket prices might make early games prohibitive, even with dollar hotdogs. 8) |

1) for most of the League, playoff attendance decreases because they start reporting the actual attendance of their games. The League takes a chunk of the playoff ticket revenue so not increasing prices or over reporting attendance can cost a team a lot of money. Dayton was notorious for over reporting attendance. A crowd announced as 5000 but looked more like 1500 in the regular season would be reported as 1500 in the playoffs. In Cincinnati's case there are literally less people coming out...
2) playoff hockey means spring time and for a lot of tri-state families that means outdoor activities; baseball practices and games, cookouts and yard work. Add in the lack of promo and presale time and attendance drops. The hockey fans know about the games and come out but the groups of casual fans which is really the core of the fan base become harder to reach and bring out. As the playoffs progress we will see an increase. |

| I believe its all about the weather, for myself it kinda seems dumb to leave sunny 60 degree outside for a dumpy arena. With the Reds out of town this weekend hopefully there will be a bump but I'm worried with the NFL draft people will be having parties or sitting on the couch. |

| I'm not sure of the reason for small crowds but the last year the Cyclones won the cup, I was at every home game and the crowds started small and as time went on, and the team went deeper, the crowds got larger! |
