The boys played hard tonight, but Domingue almost stole this one. Thankfully they finally got one by him.
REALLY chippy game, and lots of stuff from both sides not called, especially in OT. As is typical by the time you get to game 5, these guys pretty much hate each other.
Thanks the Scuba for not coming to the game!!!

Wow, I almost feel sorry for Gwinnett after that final goal-NOT !! That game featured at least 7 "no calls" towards Gwinnett on plays that could have resulted in Cyclone injuries. Hats off to the team for staying focused and not losing it like most of us fans were doing in the stands. I was shocked in a positive way that nothing flew from the stands not at the Gwinnett players but at the horrible three blind mice in refs uniforms. All I can say is lets end this Tuesday and move to the next round. |

You're right, but as is typical from home fans, I guess you didn't notice the stuff the good guys were giving right back to them. Gwinnett probably had more no-calls, but it went both ways, and Lindstrom is pretty lucky he didn't get a 4 and a game for his stick hack.
My question, for folks that were sitting on the bench side, is did that shot by Aubin earlier in the 2nd OT actually go in? I heard it clink the post and end up in the crease next to Domingue, but I'd swear I saw the net move. From my seat, Domingue was blocking my sightline so I don't know for sure, and the ref was not in a good position.
Also, at the end of the game a stick went flying into the upper net above the glass behind the Gwinnett goal but I didn't see where it came from. Did one of the Gwinnett guys throw that? If so... That's GOT to be a suspension. Can't throw stuff at the crowd. |

You should check out the Gwinnett Facebook Site. According to them, our guys are nothing but thugs and they are angels. The ref of course was only unfair to them. A matter of perspective I suppose...
All in all it was pretty crappy reffing. |

If you talk to the trainer, I bet every player has at least one welt or bruise from stick action by Gwinnett. I know we weren't angels but ours were mainly in frustration-retaliation from no call by the refs. In the second overtime the goalie lifted the net a second time and was ready to push it off but the puck was cleared and he put it back down. I hope the refs are not feeling sorry since they are forced to 5 on the road. Don't blame us for your arena issues-we know them all too well. |

| @Catch, since i'm no longer allowed in the US Bank Arena, I watched a youtube highlight reel from last nights game. After our game winner you can clearly see a gwinnett player to the right of their cage double hand his stick and over hand tomahawk chop onto the ice. The highlight cuts out right as the stick makes contact, my guess is the stick broke and went flying everywhere. That might explain the stick into the stands. |

| Hey, I was just thinking, I didn't go to game 5 of the Toledo series at US Bank Arena and we lost that one, I went to a Dayton Dragons game. |

| I was as nervous as a long-tailed cat in a rocking chair during those two overtimes. The Cyclone were dominating the play, but couldn't finish. The longer it went on, my fear was that they could be victimized by a bad bounce or a fluke goal. They definitely took it to the Gladiator and deserved to win. I hope to see a similar effort Tuesday. It doesn't seem possible for Domingue to be able to stop 45 shots again. |

| Their goalie is the only one keeping them in the series. |

That was pure playoff hockey last night. Everyone on both sides finished their checks, lots of forechecking and back checking, strong goal tending and both teams and sets of fans bitching about the refs. This is far from over though. Any of the remaining four teams can win the conference and both the number 1 and 2 seeds in the west are a game from elimination. A missed assignment here, a bad bounce there and any team can win any game or series. Lets not forget the Kings won the Stanley Cup last year after getting the number 8 seed in the West on the last night, and Florida won the Kelly Cup from the number five seeds. Hockey is unique in that way among all major sports. The NBA playoffs are a joke.
Hope to see Linstrom in his suit in the stands Tuesday after that atrocious penalty he took in the third period tied at 2-2. Not sure I saw him on the ice after that. Special praise for Pacan on the great move he made on the winning goal by going wide as he came around the net rather than trying to move directly in front or throw a pass out there hoping. He went wide, took his time and found Lewis coming down the slot. A real heady play |

Oh, Domingue has now gotten away with 2 blatant delay of game moves in this series. On Wednesday night he got in trouble and flipped his mask off, then clearly knocked the goal off last night when the 'clones were swarming.
That said... I have to admit that it's just plain SMART on his part. He keeps getting away with it... So... Yeah. But it'd be nice if one of the refs would catch him and give him 2.
In terms of all of the hacking and elbowing, once again, there is a whole bunch of that going on from both sides. I do think Gwinnett resorted to more of it in OT last night when the 'clones were carrying the play and the ref wasn't calling ANYTHING except the blatant stuff. But that's just a desperate team getting outplayed in OT in game 5. Nothing new or earth shattering there.
Domingue scares me, and could easily steal this series. His team got completely outplayed for 5 periods last night but they were still one bounce or mistake from winning it. |

| I noticed Dominigue knock his net off on Friday as well and while its cheap as hell i think the refs tent to give all goalies that. Has anyone ever seen a goalie called for that? I never have. |
