Both the number 1 and 2 seeds lost in six games to the 3 and 4 seeds in the semi finals. Best news out of that is that when we play in the finals we wont have to play in Alaska, its olympic sized rink, four hour time change, and god awful flights. Alaska gave up the tying goal with five seconds left and then lost in OT
Will be either Idaho or Stockton in the finals. Idaho/Cincinnati would be a rematch our last cup and interesting as the winner would be the first three time winner of the Kelly Cup. Be interested in any preferences anyone has
On a side note--nicely written big article on page 2 in today's Enquirer by Rory Glynn. Sounds like he might even know hockey. Anyone know who he is??? |

| I would like to play Stockton. They are the Original ECHL Cyclones, and they have a rabid fanbase. Would be nice to hang #3 on yet another Western Conference team. |

Your right on SC as i misread the list on the ECHL website. My apologies.
They only have Hampton roads for one in 1998 though. Are you including those to the same franchise but different locations? As was pointed out here earlier, Stockton is the original Cyclones ECHL franchise so maybe Hampton Roads has moved around also. |

Hampton Roads is listed as Kelly Cup Champs in 90-91,91-92, and 97-98.
They beat Greensboro 4 games to 1, Louisville in a sweep, and Pensacola 4-2. This is from Wikipedia, so I guess the info could be suspect. Either way, if the Cyclones capture the Cup this year, they'll be in some pretty rare company. |

| For whatever reason the ECHL page lists Kelly Cup Champs back to 1996-97 season, but clearly the league existed before then. Perhaps the Cup wasn't called the Kelly Cup before then, so that is why it's not listed. Patrick Kelly was named Commissioner Emeritus in 1996, but was league Commissioner before then, so the Championship Trophy was probably renamed in 1996. |

| For the first eight seasons, the playoff championship trophy was called The Jack Riley Cup. |
