You just don't give up 2 goals in the first minute of the game and then take a slashing penalty, away from the puck, with less than two minutes left in a tied game.
You just don't do things like this and win key playoff games.
I think the Cyclones are the better team, and they fought back from a bad start tonight, but in the end they gave it away. They were outplaying Reading in just about every way, and blew it.
Now it gets REALLY hard to stay alive. |

Cyclones played like they were the team ahead 2 games to 1. We were lucky more penalties weren't called against us. Hope we don't see a suspension for our player shooting a thrown can in the direction of the Reading players after the game. |

Can anybody tell me why the team came out last night with the intent to send anybody wearing a Reading jersey through the glass ? Down 2 games to 1, we needed the first priority to win this game and even the series. Pecan did not deserve a game misconduct unless something else was done besides the hit. The hit deserved at least 4 minutes and maybe a solid warning to both benches. On the other end so didn't see clear the losing goal. Can anyone fill in the main source of anger by Coach Skalde ? |

I saw Nick Brunker on the way out and asked him about Jarrod's rage. Nick said he was incensed about an egregious hook that took O'Hanley down and made him lose the puck in front of the net, giving Tifu the open look that he buried. Honestly, I didn't see it, but a lot of the players were enraged, too, especially Aubin. I just saw a big scrum in front and the puck got loose. Reading had those opportunities all night, so it's not surprising that that's how the game ended. The Cyclone did a poor job of tying up players' sticks in front last night.
I'm hoping for a better performance tonight.
By the way, Pacan and Skalde are both lighter in the wallet today. |

Take away the first ten minutes of last nights game and the Cyclones definitely played the better game. I'm not sure if it was goalie interference or what that enraged Skalde that much at the end of the game. I was sitting at the other end of the ice and couldnt see through the mass of players crowding the net. It was an ugly scene for sure. Skalde breaking sticks on the boards, Bench minor penalty, beer tossed onto the ice, people yelling f**k Reading (sitting near families too), Cyclones player shooting beer can at the Royals, Royal player shooting can back into crowd. Pandemonium.
I wouldn't say they deserved to lose. I do think this city as a whole doesnt deserve another championship though. Playoff attendence has been absolutely abysmal. I dont remember the Conf Final attendence being near this bad the two times they won the cup. It must really suck for the players and organization to be getting this little support deep into the playoffs. Pathetic. |

Looked like O'Hanley got tripped or hooked right before the winning goal and it didn't get called. And that sucks. BUT... If you don't take the stupid penalty (which looked like it might have drawn blood and could probably have been a 4) you aren't in that position in the first place.
As I said before, the Cyclones look like the more skilled team on the ice, and Gill is pretty much THE reason the Royals are where they are. The home team isn't out of this yet and absolutely can beat these guys in 3 straight games, but not if they make dumb mistakes and give the game away.
Should be 2-2 right now. Reading got a freebie last night.
