Seeing Reading run through Stockton so easily and exposing the Western Conference for the overinflated fraud that it is makes losing that Conference Finals series even more painful. That squad was beatable, but they maximized their opportunities, while the Cyclone couldn't capitalize on theirs.
What could've been. Sigh... |

| I don't think that the Cyclones recovered from that freak dump in riccocet goal in Reading, but this game is based upon lucky bounces. I don't recall the Cyclones ever benefiting from such freakiness. |

Will this team ever address the non-performing power play ? They say "speed kills" but in hockey "no speed" kills ! Reading ran us over all game long. |

Kind of what I was thinking too Reggie.
I agree with Bags though, I think our lack of any kind of effective power play doomed us against Reading. We were bigger than them, but their speed just killed us. They disrupted any kind of puck control we could muster because they could forecheck the life out of us, and beat us to every loose puck. All that being said, if we had an above average power play, we negate a lot of those problems. |

| I agree. The PP has been abysmal for several years. I don't know what it takes to get it going. I watch other teams and they're able to spread the ice, possess the puck and get the defenders moving laterally to create chances. For some reason, the Cyclones can't seem to do that. It's baffling. I hope they can improve it next season. |

For the year Reading had 317 power play chances and scored 57 goals for an 18% rate for 11th in the league. Cyclones had 321 chances and scored 50 goals for a 15.6% rate and 17th in the league. 7 goal difference over 72 games.
Think we had a great balance of size and speed this year |
