Well it looks like the goalie we will be receiving from Nashville/Milwaukee will be an ex-Wheeling Nailer. They signed 6'6" goaltender Scott Darling who played for Wheeling last season.
O h I agree with his numbers. To begin the season he never really touched the ice with Kileen there then Kileen couldn't stop anything then was traded & Darling went on a pretty good run.
Great move for new coach Simon. At least the goaltending will be stable at the season start. Add a good prospect goaltender and Darling can do the bulk of the early goaltending while the prospect works in slowly. Like to see an early 3-1 split and change to 2-1. If Houser comes back- straight 1-1 split that Cyclone history has mostly used.

This isn't a coach Simon move, it was a signing by Nashville/Milwaukee
Maybe not a "Simon" move but it will be how he uses the goaltenders. Just was giving a simple opinion on how "I" would use goalies if I was coach (and thank god for the team I'm not ).

OK, I got ya now. I thought you misread my post and thought Simon was the one that brought him in
That's ok. Some of the previous talk w/ Skalde was how he was stuck w/ the ineffective Chet Pickard in the early years. With Darling, Simon will have a "veteran" goalie to both take the burden early and help w/ a younger goalie on the roster. Now let's see if we get him or he ends up in the AHL !
Just thought I'd bring this topic up after seeing this on AHL site:

The Milwaukee Admirals announced Wednesday that they have signed forwards Vinny Saponari and Barry Almeida, defenseman Theo Ruth and goalie Scott Darling to American Hockey League contracts. Darling broke into the AHL last season with the Hamilton Bulldogs, playing in one game and stopping all eight shots he saw. Darling played for the majority of the season with the Wheeling Nailers of the ECHL. Leading the team in games played at 32, Darling's record was 13-12-4 and he accumulated a 2.80 goals-against average, along with a .907 save percentage.
