Cyclones add two defensemen

CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Cincinnati Cyclones, ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Florida Panthers and Nashville Predators, announced today that they have agreed to terms with defensemen Brett Wysopal and Drew Daniels for the 2013-14 season.
Wysopal, a LaGrange Park, Ill. native, will embark on his first professional season in North America this fall. A year ago, he collected 30 points (6g-24a) in 25 games and a +16 rating with Briancon in France. He also contributed five assists during four postseason games en route to the French Cup championship. Before playing overseas, the 25-year-old was a three-year letter winner with the Ferris State Bulldogs, where he amassed 45 points (7g-38a) in 121 career games. In 2011-12, he helped guide the Bulldogs to the CCHA regular-season title. While in school, he was a teammate of current Cyclone and former Bulldog Mike Embach.
Daniels, a Suffern, N.Y. native, comes to Cincinnati after beginning his pro career with the Allen Americans of the Central Hockey League a season ago. In 2012-13, he logged 63 games and posted 14 points (2g-12a). He also contributed a pair of assists in 12 playoff contests on the way to the CHL championship. Prior to turning pro, the 24-year-old was a three-year letter winner at Northeastern University, notching 24 points (7g-17a) in 104 career collegiate games. Daniels was selected in the seventh round (194th overall) by the San Jose Sharks in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.

Cyclones agree to terms with Birkholz

CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Cincinnati Cyclones, ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Florida Panthers and Nashville Predators, announced today that they have agreed to terms with forward Josh Birkholz for the 2013-14 season.
Birkholz, a Maple Grove, Minn. native, was one of the Cyclones’ top rookies a year ago. The 22-year-old finished fifth among first-year Cincinnati players with 19 points (11g-8a) in 47 regular-season games. In the postseason, the six-foot-one-inch forward contributed two goals and an assist in nine contests. A third-round selection (67th overall) of the Florida Panthers in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, Birkholz also logged four games in the American Hockey League with San Antonio.
Prior to turning pro, Birkholz enjoyed a three-year career in the Western Hockey League, along with one season of college hockey. Overall, he recorded 128 points (73g-55a) in 229 amateur games. |

Cyclones agree to terms with Delisle

CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Cincinnati Cyclones, ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Florida Panthers and Nashville Predators, announced today that they have agreed to terms with forward Dan Delisle for the 2013-14 season.
Delisle will embark on his rookie campaign after completing a four-year career at the University of Minnesota-Duluth. While in school, the six-foot-five-inch, 230-pound forward totaled 16 points (9g-7a) in 102 career games and helped lead the Bulldogs to the NCAA championship in 2010-11. In the same season, Delisle was named to the WCHA All-Academic Team. Delisle was selected in the third round (89th overall) by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft
