CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Cincinnati Cyclones, ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Florida Panthers and Nashville Predators, announced today that they have agreed to terms with forwards Ryan Harrison and Chris Zaires for the 2013-14 season.
Harrison, a 21-year-old Kelowna, British Columbia native, comes to Cincinnati after a five-year amateur career in the Western Hockey League. He collectively logged 325 games with the Price Albert Raiders, Medicine Hat Tigers and Everett Silvertips. A year ago, the five-foot-ten-inch, 185-pound forward notched 32 points (10g-22a) in 51 games with the Silvertips. In 2008-09, he helped the Canada Pacific Under-17 team to the Silver Medal at the World Hockey Challenge.
Zaires, a 24-year-old, will begin his first full season as a professional with the Cyclones. Last spring, the Aberdeen, N.J. native made his pro debut with the Trenton Titans after completing a four-year career at Brown University. During his collegiate days, Zaires amassed a total of 74 points (28g-46a) in 127 games. CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Cincinnati Cyclones, ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Florida Panthers and Nashville Predators, announced today that they have agreed to terms with defensemen Antoine Corbin and Martin Schumnig for the 2013-14 season.
Corbin, a 21-year-old Granby, Quebec native, is set to begin his second season as a professional after logging 30 games with the American Hockey League's Hamilton Bulldogs in 2012-13. With the Bulldogs, the six-foot-three-inch rear guard notched three points (1g-2a) and 22 penalty minutes. He also skated in six ECHL games with the San Francisco Bulls, scoring one goal. Prior to turning pro, Corbin played four seasons in the Western Hockey League with Kelowna and Prince Albert amassing a total of 189 games and 70 points (27g-43a).
Schumnig, a 24-year-old, will be playing in North America for the first time in his career. The Klagenfurt, Austria native played for his hometown club in each of the last six seasons, collecting a total of 41 points (8g-33a) in 210 games. He has also been named to the Austrian League All-Star Team in three straight years and is a two-time league champion. In 2011-12, he helped lead the Austrian D1A team to the Silver Medal in the World Championships. |
