| The Cyclones are the only team in the ECHL without a Loss/Overtime Loss/Shootout Loss so far this season. Knock on wood. So far so good, as long as the scoreboard says the Cyclones win, I am fine with it! |

Wins on Friday and Saturday would allow the Cyclones to match the best ever season opening winning streaks (8-0-0-0) in ECHL history.
Still a long way from the Cyclones incredible ECHL all time 17 game winning streak of 2008, but what a way for the Simon era to begin! |

| And now we find out of what this team is made. We knew they'd lose eventually, now it's a matter of how they bounce back on Wednesday. Momentum is an interesting thing and goes in both directions; a team that's winning will often keep winning and one that's losing can really start to struggle. The book of Chuck had a verse stating the goal was to never lose 2 in a row and if you do that you'll be in good shape. |
"PBR can do that to you....1,2,3,12 beers and you're f**ked" -oscar
"and i don't give a damn 'bout my bad reputation" - joan jett
"beer is proof that god loves us and wants us to be happy." - benjamin franklin
"is that a pulled pork sandwich i smell?"
"some things are just better without pants...."

The book must have got lost traveling between leagues. :)
If the effort was there last night then there's nothing to rebound from on Wednesday. Some nights no matter how well you play the other team is going to get the W.

| I wholeheartedly disagree about the team playing 60 minutes last night. They had flashes of coming to life in the second two periods but by and large periods 2 and 3 were all Ft. Wayne. The way the Clones were pressuring them in the first period, I though it was going to be a laugher, but the Komets came out with a purpose at the start of the second. They were moving the puck better, forechecking the cr@p out of us, had more hustle...the only thing that kept the game even close was the goaltending. You can't give up four chances on one shift and expect to escape unscathed every time. The Cyclones defense was struggling to move the puck up ice for large portions of the game and at least ten times one forward tried to carry the puck end from the blueline all the way to the slot by himself. Any decent pair of defencemen will shut down a guy if he refuses to pass. And the Cyclones gave up what, three...four breakaways? Can anyone explain why on earth the Cyclones forwards refused to cover their points for pretty much the entire game?? Everytime their forwards would come under pressure, they would just cycle the puck back to their uncovered defencemen, who either had a wide open shot at the net, or loads of time to decide where to move the puck back down low. That was not a team putting themselves in a position to win last night, the fact that the score was close was a lot of luck and solid Cyclones goaltending. |

Agreed. Team defense sucked in periods 2 and 3. Odd man rushes galore, missed easy clearing opportunity led to FTW goal 2 and the last power play was, obviously, a train wreck. No evidence of the "stifling" team defense which has allegedly been driving the offense.
This team is clearly not near as good as its record suggests that it is.
Embach and Luciani in stands last night. Is Lewis hurt? He's only dressed once this year. I guess Simon wants to primarily play guys who weren't part of things last year. When Megan and Johnny McF get their call ups, this team could have some trouble scoring goals.
A very boring game. Hardly any hitting at all.
