http://www.echl.com/stats/text-game-report.php?game_id=10691 Yes it was a loss but the team still played 60 minutes.Look at the three goals we allowed: 1. Shot straight in on Madore that went between his legs (kneeling on the ice) and came straight back for rebound score shot. 2. Couldn't clear it out and multiple chances finally got one in 3. Short-handed 2 on 1 where we allowed the pass over to the trailer man The lack of a power play unit is still a big concern. Also saw last night the defense seems to not be willing to take an "icing call" when play was hot and heavy and goalie needed the puck cleared to break Ft. Wayne's momentum. Even though we cleared two extra men off the roster, still way too many scratches. At times last night defense didn't look in sync and lack of Luciani and Embach resulted in missed chances on offense. Little confused on 5747 for attendance. If your counting butts in the stands, I would have guessed more like 6800. Very few large pockets of empty seats and sides were full. Attendance should be people in the stands-payed or free.

If the Cyclones reported 5,747, then that is how many fans were in the stands. The team has an acknowledged reputation in minor pro hockey circles for being one of the most honest teams with its attendance figures. |

You always think the attendance is more than what the Cyclones are announcing.

I was there and the lower bowl was near full, what ever that translates to in numbers! |

I'm going to backoff my attendance figure for one reason. Looking at the ECHL site, the US Bank Arena is listing our attendance capacity as 6955 ! I honestly thought the bottom bowl was 8700. Based on 7000, 5700 does make sense. This is extra confusing for me since Las Vegas is listed as 7773 in an arena with fans on only one end and close to the same number of rows as our bottom bowl. http://www.echl.com/directory-s12360 |

I can agree with that and sorry I brought it up. The only thing the attendance figure does do is give a sense of the "health" of the franchise. Although the last few years has been heavy on mid-week games, the team has done a great job of making it work. Still would like them take a page from the Florence Freedom and add $1 sodas with the $1 beers. |

Bags, I don't know if you're a STH, but that is one of the additional benefits this year. Every STH, and possibly half-season STH, is issued a plastic cup at the beginning of the season that entitles you to $1 soda at all times, every game. I'm not a big soda drinker, but it can definitely save some bucks over the course of the season. |

Thanks for the tip RD but we gave up our season tickets a few years because of work. Glad the Cyclones still allow one sealed water each and that handles both of us most games. Still would like a 12 ounce can of pop for $1 on beer night. Easy to sell and still big profit for the concessions. |

Lower bowl with floor seating might be something like 8700, but the 6955 number is based on permanent seats in the lower bowl. They are quite honest about attendance reporting. Usually the turnstiles vs. the scanned tickets are a few off (understandably) so they split the difference and report that. Period.

Thanks for the 6955 comfirmation. I've gone through many times when they directed us around the turnstile and they hand cranked for some reason. 5700 seemed low when I thought the bottom bowl was over 8500. Any crowd over 80% of capacity is a good crowd. For us over 100% (fans in top bowl) even better ! |

That came out a little abrasive, sorry. it wasn't meant to be. I used to get all unraveled by attendance figures in relationship to lack of publicity, you are right, health of the franchise, but in the end it was just causing me too much stress. Things have been encouraging in the stands though. |

No problem Scuba. I know where you were coming from and I do seem to bring up the attendance question probably too much. Having only played three home games, hard to tell with the excess roster where this team is. |
