The Cyclones have signed goaltender Joe Howe away from the Missouri Mavericks. In 7 games he's 3-2-1 with a 2.52 gaa and a 0.915 save %

Howe played well in the 2-1 OTL to Kalamazoo. Deserved a better fate.

Howe looked very comfortable last night. He appears to be technically sound, doesn't fight the puck, and seems to control rebounds very well. The Cyclones should send a Christmas present to whomever recommended him.

Also interesting was Scott Darling shut out SA last night in the battle of the affiliates with both Hauser and Madore playing for SA. Three Cyclone goalies. He has put up some nice numbers at Milwaukee. In five starts he is 4-1 with two shut outs, a 1.87 GAA and a save percentage of .941. My concern is that when Nashville gets Rhinne back, Scott might a hard time mentally coming back here. He has been up there long enough to prove he belongs there. A lot different than being called up for a few games to sit on the bench and returned.

Howe has played great--2 games I know--and I like him better than Madore but now that SA has signed Madore the Cyclones can't cut him so Howe will be the odd man out.

Clones are now 0/45 on PP at home--thats half a game--after last night. At least they hit the post in the third period--getting closer. Thought they played a much stronger game for 60 minutes although Elmira didn't forecheck them much in the Cyclones end and the inability of the Clones to handle the forecheck has been one of their big problems. Will be interesting to see if Elmira changes its game plan tonight and how the Clones handle it.

Great overall post. Just a minor clerical error. It's approaching ONE AND a half games (90 minutes) of home ice power play futility. All power plays aren't 2 full minutes, so it's probably in the 80 minute range in actuality. Still a staggering amount of time to go scoreless no matter how one slices it. Top NHL teams operate at over a 25% clip on the PP. What the Cyclones are "accomplishing" is other worldly bad.

The game last night, while having scoring-finally-was so very polite. I counted hits in the first period. 3 by the Cyclones; 2 for Elmira. 2 of the 3 Cyclone hits were by 5'6" Luciani and the other by Ruth. Ruth's was an angry response to being high sticked or he probably wouldn't have made it. SOOO SOFFFFFFFFFFFFFT. Crowder is absolutely hilarious to watch. He almost comes to a complete stop before he "hits" someone. He probably says "excuse me" as well.

Great strategy on the snow globe giveaway. Make people get there early and then make them wait until the game is over AND have a line which probably took over an hour for some to get through. 2 people were taking the vouchers AND checking ticket stubs. Two for 2000 people. Brilliant Cyclones!!! Utterly brilliant!!!!

Snow globes deemed too dangerous to put in possession of recipients during game.....a "safety concern". How blanking ridiculous. Management gets a solid "F" for this absurd handling of what should have been a nice giveaway.

I hope the Cyclones realize that someone could take a winter hat and put a full beer bottle in it and throw the hat and hurt someone. Better wait until after the game to give them away as well...for safety's sake. LOL

After watching some Cyclones fans throw beer cans on the ice at the Kalamazoo Wings after they won in the shootout Tuesday night, it was the right strategy to wait until after the game to hand out the snow globes.

I was wondering the same thing. They told me that inside the GLASS snow globes is an anti-freeze type fluid. I don't know about you, but I don't want kids or anyone else for that matter dropping these things and leaving broken glass everywhere. Not to mention, have you ever been around anti-freeze? The most slippery thing ever.

Again to you danc, I "face-palm"

Whatever, girlie boy. Scared of a minute chance of being exposed broken glass and a very small quantity of anti freeze. Lend one of your dresses to Crowder

Again, proving my point of a 5-year-old mentality. Go back to your video games son.

But it is okay to give out firestarter packets as you enter the arena before even getting your ticket scanned... haha.
