Cyclones win 4 - 3 in an exciting finish. Coach Cameron said after the game "I almost had a heart attack the game was so close". Nick Bootland did not go on the bus with the team to Johnstown because of his injury to his face, especially his eye. Same old rough play! Sure hope there wasn't much damage and he will be ok.
Can you believe that the Dayton goalie was the No. 1 'star of the game'? He gave up 4 goals and lost the game and HE was the star! Gee, go figure! Naw, we know better. Mike Henderson was the No. 2 'star' with 2 goals.
There were quite a lot of Cyclones fans in the building and it helps when they all sit together so they can make more noise. The Dayton crowd was small and quiet tonight.
Oh yes..........they used to sell those cream-cheese filled hot pretzels at Nutter Center but now they are selling them at US Bank Arena. (None at Nutter this year). They are delicious and was usually the 2nd thing we bought when we made the trip to Dayton. The first thing: dinner at "Cold Beer & Cheeseburgers"! THESE PRETZELS ARE SOLD BEHIND SEC. 234 (where the Carlsburg beer sign is in the concession stand)FOR $3.50. We need to give them our business if we want them to continue selling them.
Now, on to Johnstown where I hope the Cyclones bring home another 2 points.
PS: Congratulations to the new Daddy.....Gregg DeVitto
Nick was much better today; had almost 100% of the vision back in his eye even tho it was still swollen. He goes back to the Dr. on Monday and hopes to play in Toledo Sat. against his brother.
Yes, only in Dayton can the losing goalie be the star of the game.
Not sure if we are going to remedy the roughness or not....so far I haven't been impressed with anyone in particular that is stepping up to be an enforcer. I had heard Ryan was going to be the enforcer but as far as I can tell he isn't winning most of his fights. He did score a goal last night tho! Good job, Terry!
Hope someone lets us know the score tonight since we don't have any internet or radio coverage.
