According to the ECHL's web site, John Smith was signed today as emergency backup goalie. Then on the tab for scores, I'm seeing that Ben Gray is playing, John's the backup & Ceddy's no where on the roster.
I'll see if he's been called up & maybe one of you was psyhic. Maybe Coach Weber is giving him some time off for good behavior, so to speak! :-)

| He'll be in net tomorrow. No need to have him ride the bus if he wasn't going to play tonight anyway. He can get a full nights rest and hopefully get a good outing from him tomorrow. The skaters are all going to be tired for both teams tomorrow so goaltending will most likely be the difference. |

| Wheeling said that? If so, they were obviously trying to hide that we are saving him for a tougher game (Trenton at home) and letting the back-up play against them. |

and for all the (cedrick) fans who may not know Danis was hurt in Hamilton's game last night with about 14mins left in the second period and cedrick went the rest of the way stopping 11 of 12 shots (i believe)in a Hamilton loss.
good news that he played well but no word yet on how serious danis' injury is but it's looking like we may be without cedrick for an extended period of time regardless of what's going on in MTL.  |

If Danis is hurt,who will be the backup for Hamilton? Somebody cut the phone

| funny thing Bags is that Dov was mention in the thread by the Hamilton fan. however, they pointed out that Dov has some sort of contract with another NHL team..? i say send him on his way...contract or no contract. if it's not cedrick's team i am all for Ben taking over! |

i know dov signed PTO's with portland which is affiliated with anahiem. but PTO's are not long term deals so as far as i know dov would be free to go anywhere that wanted him. my question would be since dov has a contract with us what say does chuck have in dov leaving to sign a short term PTO? if an AHL team wants to sign dov to a PTO and not a 2-way contract can chuck just say "no" because dov is under cantract with us. grnated part of chucks job is to develop players and get them to be upwardly mobile in the world of hockey and saying "no" to a call up would be a ****ty thing to do, but the other side of chucks job is to keep the cyclones winning games.
i think its great that ceddy got his chance and proved that he can play at that level. i think deep down we all knew he could and it was just a matter of when the call up would come. hopefully for our sake the goalies in the hamilton and montreal organizations get healthy and we can get ceddy back for our playoff run. if he ends up staying in hamilton i wish him the best and i hope he keeps excelling and eventually gets the call to the nhl...i think he has the potential to play at that level. |
