Anyone else notice this team who I and others felt could not score and had a coach we were at best skeptical about a month ago, now has the 2nd best record in the conference(3rd in the league) after going 9-1-1 in the last 11 games , has the 2nd most goals in the league while their leading point getter is ranked 43rd best in the league, has a goalie from outer Mongolia who lost his first game in OT and has since won six straight, and has been hit hard by call ups to the point where they have two forwards skating from the SPHL and one from the FHL.

I like my crow medium rare Coach Simon. Nice job.

I'll be dining on crow tartar tonight.

Glad to see they've made a strong push. Howe wasn't a complete surprise, he played at a very esteemed NCAA program.

Let's keep it rolling tonight.

They're also 3 in the Conference and 5th in League in terms of goals allowed.

All this in spite of their embarrassing power play numbers. Even those seem to be coming around however.

I never doubted the systems Simon had in place. OK, except for the PP which, while improving, I still think has issues. The team only lacks one thing; the grit and physicality to grind games out. Adding that to their game while tighten things up even more defensively and help them sustain more offensive pressure. If they find that balance of tempo and grit we could see them put on quite a run down the stretch.

My point--and maybe I should have been a bit more direct--is that this board tends to become a place where all including me-or at least most-complain about this and that with a game very very few have even played and none have played at this level. Easy to be Monday morning quarterbacks with this game as the difference between success and failure is very fine. We will play well for the rest of year--some games great and some poorly, but on a full season basis we have a strong team that is well coached.

No problems here with wanting a team to continually play better but lets remember that There are 20 other fan bases who have more to complain about then we do.

More than glad to have a little uncooked crow here.

Starting with the Elmira 2 game series back in December, the offense awoke mightily from its 10 game slumber. The home PP blues were mainly a matter of bad luck-noone's PP is 0/45 bad and the team has enough proven scorers at this level (Lewis, Hazen, Luciani and Eves) who were bound to get back on track. And My opinion of the team and coaching was based on a limited sample of games and some longing for the past. LOL. Also, wasn't aware of the depth of the San Antonio roster (Combs, etc.).

I missed the game this weekend, but the last 3 home games (Elmira twice and Reading) were fun to watch. I thought the show that the team put on in front of a packed house was phenomenal. 6 goals, 2 outstanding fights and a bunch of hard hits was a great display of offensive and physical hockey---the type of hockey that brings people to the games.

This was from the infamous danc not even a month ago:

"I could say "I told you so", but I'm not that type. Since the fluky 7-0 start, the Cyclones have scored 26 goals in 14 games (SO goals don't count). That's less than 2 goals per game. That is a formula for last place. Nothing can overcome this level of offensive ineptitude.

Agree with all that has been written. The first period last night was one of the few times all season that this team really looked good at home. The team reverted to its norm, however, in periods 2 & 3.

As I stated many weeks ago, the Cyclones record (when it was 7-0/8-3) was a mirage. If it weren't for the good goaltending this team has had plus its 5-1 SO record and 1-0 OT record, the Cyclones would be on the fringes of playoff consideration already. They're heading in that direction anyway.

And, Holy Moses, is this team soft!!! Other than MacDonald, no one checks, fights or stands up for teammates. MacDonald's quote from the Cyclones own site:

“I thought we played a pretty good game out there,” said Cyclones captain David MacDonald. “I think we still need to be a little bit more physical. I think that we created a lot, had a lot of shots…They’re a really strong team and one of our biggest rivals. We have to regroup, have a little talk, and have to be more physical next game.”

This team has not only been bad at home this season, they are boring as hell to boot. No scoring, no checking, no fighting. The Cyclones currently rank LAST in the ECHL in PIM per game.

Bad, boring and soft is the Cyclones brand of hockey so far this season. I wonder how long it's going to be before some serious booing starts taking place at USBA?"

Overreact much? LOL.

I stand by the comments on the basis of how the team was playing at the time. They were simply awful and not enjoyable to watch.

I did my mea culpa. Look it up. North of your vocabulary limit, I know. Now go back to your playstation and justin beiber cds.

Also, is the quote feature too complex for you to figure out?

Not trying to start anything inflammatory. Just saying that danc is a typical "hit the panic button" fan. If the season were 25 games, maybe he'd have a point. But all he does is complain about an extremely short sample size of games. It's sad. And again, he resorts to fancy words and insecure attacks. Settle down, Dan Cummings. Just settle down.
