For those of you who don't use it, the Daily Stats section of the ECHL website is full of interesting info. Suggest you check it out every now and then. Some that I found interesting this morning:
Of all players in the league with 20 or more shots on goal this year, the top three sharpshooters are Cyclones:Combs at 28.1%, Megan at 26%, and Shalla at 25.9%. No one else in the league is above 25%. Would be nice to have them all here for the playoffs ??
I have had the feeling all year that the Cyclones were a bit asleep at the wheel in the second period and turned it on in the third. Stats show that wrong: Goals for and against in each period for Cyclones are: Period 1 40 goals for and 29 against, Period 2 49 for and 31 against, Period 3 41 for and 42 against.
Clones arre still last in the league in PP% at home, but after being 0/50 in 2013, they are 7/24 in 2014 for a 29% which would put them #1 for the full year.
Clones are the least penalized team in the league.
You can see how exciting my Saturday mornings are.
Hard to believe that it is Feb 1 and Fort Wayne, which is the closest team to us, is in town tonight for the first time this season!! |
