Same broken record-unless the bottom bowl holds 6000 instead of listed
7000,you tell me we didn't have 3700 to 4000.Ends were at 35% full and
both centers were more like 65% full and how many were upstairs? For ads
this week the Clones need to run past "melt the ice" pictures (sorry ladies
but we need the crowd) to try and pump the house crowd up.Last night I still
wanted to see Twister go up against the Bible mascot at center ice !!! |

Bible mascot will bow to Twister. Don't hate just because I didn't throw you a shirt. They wouldn't let me on the ice because I would distract people from watching the Bible Band. Next Weekend it's back to normal. The headstand will be in effect.

Let me get this straight.....Twister was not allowed on the ice because he would be a distraction? Good grief. Who was the arena catering to? The real fans or the people coming to hear the music?
My husband and I have decided not to renew our season tickets for next season. We have been long time season ticket holders and anyone that knows us can attest to the fact that we are huge fans and advocates of Cyclones hockey. But, we have had enough. We have complained for years about letting the people, I refuse to call them fans, go down the aisles when the puck is in play. It was my idea that they put a sign on the jumbo tron because the ushers were doing nothing to prevent it. We have been to many games throughout the country, including Major A, and USBank Arena is the only venue that allows the people to go to their seat during play. (not counting the Gardens-they did nothing to prevent it either) We have decided that arena management does not care about their loyal fans. Actually we were told by an usher that he was told not to upset the attendees and not to prevent them from going to their seats during the play.
It was a very hard decision on our part. But, we will not give our money to an arena that does not care about the real fans.
Sorry for the tirade. I just wanted to share our story with you all. I always read, but hardly ever post.
So, we will finish out the year, but that is all.

they actually do post a "please remain seated will the puck is in play" sign on the jumbotron early in the game. it just seems that no one pays any attention to it. if you did not renew your tickets, that is your decision, but at least let the ticket rep know why, that way something might get done.
it seems that the fans in the aisle is worse on theme nights. but with out the theme nights our attendance would be lower than it is. myself or someone from my section (usually jess) yells at someone or an usher at least once a game. Jesus night was really bad because we were right next to the band and people kept coming down the aisle and standing right in front of us, and there was an usher escorting them down. after his second trip i said some thing to the effect of "some of paid to watch a hockey game" and "even jesus sits when the puck in play" and then explained to the usher what his job was.
bgwags, if you don't mind i'm would like to forward your post the head of the ticket sales. the more people that complain the better the chances that this will get changed.
i found it hard to believe that they didn't have the band move up the concourse when they were done praying...er....uh...i mean playing, so that people who wanted to meet them would not be in the way of people that wanted to watch a hockey game. |

It was my suggestion to put up the message about staying in your seat while the puck is in play. I called my ticket rep and will fax him an official letter on Monday plus I will also fax a letter to Kristin Ropp, VP and GM of the arena. I have spoken to her many times about this problem plus the smoke coming into the arena because the ushers leave the doors open. I was promised that would be fixed and Friday night it was horrible. I even asked an usher to please close the doors and he looked at me like I had at least 2 heads. Ms. Ropp said a new system would be in place and that the smokers would no be permitted to smoke right outside the doors....another empty promise.
I love hockey and will miss is terribly, but after complaining for 15 years.....enough is enough. It just isn't worth the aggravation to us anymore.
We will try Miami Hockey...they don't let fans down the aisles..imagine that.

| I love that I'm "that girl"...I think I'm the reason people will normally sit in our section 1 time then never come back...hopefully they just move to another section and I don't actually run them out of the building but I agree bgwags, enough is enough! Something needs to be done. We should start a petition of some sort to get ushers stop signs and enforce the remain seated while the puck is in play rule... |

I have suggested the stop signs for years. It all boils down to the fact that the arena management does not care about it's loyal fans...
The minute the game started, the people next to us, got up to get beer. I mean the exact moment the puck was dropped. I said something to them and they were very rude and said they understood how the game was played. After all, they attended baseball games! That made a lot of sense to me. When they returned they did wait until the puck stopped, and came in and made another rude remark to me. We left and sat somewhere else. Why should we have to do that? We are season ticket holders....the bread and butter of the team.

wags i understand how you feel. i sit in front of mike, with "that girl" (aka jes). you know part of me feels bad for yelling at people/kids who stand in front of me but then again i dont. why should i (and other fans of the game) have to suffer because people dont understand the game and can't follow simple instructions. i mean an adult, a grown man! stood up in the aisle during play, stopped and starting talking on his cell phone. 1. couldnt he have waited 3 more secs till the puck was frozen and 2. it's a cell walk and talk at the same time!!
sorry to hear that the team is losing loyals fan. you know how badly "we" are needed. good luck with miami hockey and i hope you have a better experience up at the new goggin! |

Wags, I understand and appreciate your disgust. I have been a huge Cyclones fan since 01-02 and I became so pissed off Friday night, over a different incident involving arena staff, that I seriously debated literally burning the rest of my tickets for this season and never attending another game. I reconsidered my reasoning. I am no less angry, but my niece's love for the game was the overriding factor that convinced me to stay the course and wear the colors.
I love our game of hockey so much that I hope there is something myself and a few others can do to keep you guys in the ranks of fellow fans and ticket holders. In fact, why don't you guys come up to Suite #6 with myself and the other guys for a couple of games. We can chat and have a couple of drinks, or whatever. We will not pressure you into any decisions; perhaps we can even cry in each other's green beer on St. Patty's Day. You can shoot me an email at prometheus_222@yahoo.com.
I have no love for the US Bank Arena staff but I possess a tremendous amount of love and appreciation for the Cyclones reps who have treated my friends and family very well this season. This said, I completely understand your position. I almost hung up the jersey this weekend. I will despise some of the arena staff for the foreseeable future, but I decided not to allow them to dictate my love for this game of ours.
I very much hope you guys stick around to share the love, the excitement, and the glory that is Cyclones hockey. Regardless of your decision, I wish you all my best. |

I guess it's just me but I never have any problems with USBA ushers or fans. I really never have. Yet I always see complaints about it. Maybe it's that we are sitting up in row O this year. Years past, like in the IHL we were in 106 close to the ice and always had to deal with the glass beaters (especially on kid-themed nights, Boy Scouts Night as hell).
I dunno ... we're just always satisfied. |

I have never complained about the personnel until now. The attitudes of some of them were a minor inconvenience which I tolerated until Friday. I sent a very short email to a couple of reps yesterday. I will be sending a longer email tomorrow. I do not expect any changes and I am not asking for any favors or apologies. I will simply express my views.
One more thought regarding fans walking the aisles during play...I went to a game in Dayton a few weeks ago. Their fans were walking all over the place. In fact, the Cyclones fans I was sitting with were about ready to riot. Bomber fans walked back and forth the entire game. It was unreal -- I have never seen anything like it in my life.

| The only thing I had a slight problem with was I had my sister's zoom camara. A usher told me I could not use that camara in the arena. I had a lens that the camara came with and after a few seconds of him thinking he let me use the smaller lens. |
