| Hello all. First time posting or replying so thanks for having me. My wife and I have been long time Cyclones fans and season ticket holders. The US Bank Arena was rocking Tuesday morning. The kids seemed to be pretty well behaved and they were LOUD. Nice atmosphere. Anyway, I wanted to get your thoughts on Brian Mullally. I have read a few remarks about him and get the feeling he is not well liked. Just wondering why. Great site and I enjoy reading all the posts! |

Welcome, here are my thoughts....
Brain has a lot of developing to do but he's not getting a chance to do it b/c Chuck sits him every change he gets. I think his play had improved a lot since the start of the season, he just needs the chance to keep working on it. I'm starting to wonder why Chuck has kept him around all year. I think both the team and Brian could have benefited if he had been traded early on (the team would have had a player to use on a regular basis and Brian may have found a team that allowed him to play on a regular basis!) Personaly, I like Brian but I agree, it seems like there are quite a few on here that don't agree with me! |

While there is still room for improvement I think it's safe to say that he has gotten better over the course of the season. His passes lately have been more sure, he's stepped up into the play and taken less of the clutch/grab/hold penalties that plagued him earlier in the season. But I also think that there is no amount of practice that can equal the value of game experience and that that the number of games and minutes he gets on the ice will be a factor in whether or not his game continues to improve. And no matter what people's personal feeling are towards the guy I think it'd be difficult for them to say the effort isn't there when he's on the ice but it's pretty difficult to improve while sitting in a suit in the stands for a handful of games at a time.
So i am not sure if people are just unhappy with things he has/hasnt done on the ice (not that Chuck puts him in the lineup enough for people to really complain about his play) or bad personal experiences but I think he's a nice guy. I've never seen him be rude to a fan of any age and have seen him taking time to interact with the younger fans (signing jeserys and taking photos) when it would be easy for him to sulk over his lack of playing time....

| Thank you both for your takes. I agree that I always see the effort and he certainly takes the time to talk to fans. There is a few kids in our section (132) that dearly love him and he gives them pucks etc during warmups. Again thanks for your thoughts! |

| Nice to see Sam back. I have missed his big shot and work on the power play. Not to mention his big hits on the ice! |

| It will be nice to see Sam back on the ice and hopefully this will help out on the power play, especially with Rory returning as well! |

| According to the ECHL's web site, Brian was placed on waivers as of this morning (4/6/07). Good luck to him where ever he may end up. |
Hockey is life. All the rest is just small stuff.

| Brain is officialy gone. Some of us are sad to see him go but I think we all knew it was coming. Word is that BFL called and has shown interest in Brian so we wish him well if he goes (maybe we'll see him in the playoffs!) I also heard from a reliable source that Avery will be the next one annouced to be released. Another sad loss but, again, one that I think any fan that was at more than 2 games this year could see coming. He put in so much work outside of the rink to improve over the year and I think it showed. I'm glad I'm not in Chuck's shoes this week. It can't be easy to tell a guy that has worked hard for you all year that they can't stick around to be part of the playoffs that they helped earn! |
