Just wondered how the stop and go signs are working in the areas you sit in. The ushers are trying but the "fans" are still not understanding that they shouldn't be getting up while the puck is in play! One person told me that the sign said go, so he got up. The play hadn't stopped but the usher was holding up the sign with the "GO" pointed toward the ice......need I say more? Of course, there still needs to be more ushers. But, at least I feel that all my "complaining" is helping. I know that everyone is sick and tired of hearing me talk about this, but I go to the game to actually watch! Imagine that... We still haven't renewed for next year, but we are going to the playoffs.
I noticed the problem with the people going up the stairs also. Just yell out "down in front" I would like to get my hands on one of those signs just to use it to cheer them on.

I think our section(140) does some of the most "complaining" (ie yelling at the idiots who don't know the rules) about this issue and when they broke out the new signs I had to go physically track down an usher to ask him to stand in our section. As he was standing there and I was waiting to walk back down to my seat, 2 little boys walked right past him and down the aisle. I about lost my lid! (these were the same 2 little boys that saw the go side facing the ice later on during the game and said it was ok to walk b/c it said go. we had to explain to him to wait for the wistle which he did. I think it's as simple as educating the fans on the "rules" of the game!) Having "go" on one side of the sign is the dumbest thing I have ever seen but apparently $1,000 was spent on these signs so I don't see more practical signs (with STOP on both sides) showing up at USBA any time soon!
