And a definitive win, despite some incredibly uneven refereeing. Both teams were dishing it out (playoff hockey), but the Clones kept getting called. 8 power plays for Toledo, 3 for us. I think it was Martens in the 3rd period, who basically got raped on the ice. The Toledo player was straddling him, pushing his face into the ice, but we got the penalty.
What an arena--makes Johnstown look like a palace! But the fans were ok. Incidentally, Mike Wirll looked like he was hurting pretty badly. Groin or quad or something like that. He tried to play through it, but I don't think he played the last half of the 3rd period. |

2 of those powerplays were results of too many men on the ice,that both were called by the linesman.... Take those out and penalties are 6-3.
First period,ref let them play....2nd he came out calling some ticky tac stuff that he let go in teh 1st period....
I would say bad calls both ways,but for the most part the ref was a nonfactor no matter if the storm came out on the winning end.
Hopefully we at least show up tonight and make a game out of it, last night was terrible. |
