I just think heckling is heckling.. You do it, and then it's over, no harm no foul. I didn't get the chance to see the posters or signs up close, but I just think it's fun at the time and every team does that kind of thing to extent. Have fun with it all and be done. It's hockey people not figure skating...

it's all fun until someone loses an eye.

What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

ZINGER!!!!!

The league is investigating and if they find that the Dayton organization is "involved, they will be fined and sanctioned". That is a direct quote from the league.

I just don't think it's THAT big of a deal... I'm sure it was all done to have fun, some people are just too up tight about things.

Thing is...The a**holes(security) at USSR Arena won't let you have any fun. I have spoken to Jojo 3-4 times now. He even gets a lil laugh out of most of it. Jojo, if you ever read these...please read this.......I've known you a long time. You gave my kid a ride on the zam once, we have partied a few times at Mac's house(Todd), and you even got our whole neighborhood a suite a few years back. Please look over your staff and get rid of the folks who do not come to the arena with the right attitude. The Cyclones would like to have a home ice advantage. Right now, I do not believe we have one. Only difference is the guys sleep in a somewhat familiar bed when in Cincy. So for the fans, and especially for the team...PLEASE, just let us have a little FUN!!!

Just to let you guys know, The Bombers organization had nothing to do with the signs or flyers that were at the game.

The signs referring to Ray Harris and Lisabeth were not signs at all. they were letters taped to a green wall. Similar to the letters taped to the penalty box glass.

No, I had nothing to do with it either. Just giving you some info is all.

While I agree some heckling goes over the line, I dont think Sunday's signs and newspaper articles were that bad. When I saw them I just looked and chuckled and said, "welcome to Dayton". All it claimed was that a player was gay, big deal, I've called players worse things than that at games before. The one about Lisabeth being in jail wasnt bad either. What do you expect to see when you have guys on the team who had mugshots? They're an easy target. Go to Pittsburgh and see how many signs referring to the Bengals and in particular Chris Henry you see. I remember way back in 1995 I was at a Cyclones road game in Orlando and one of the fans there was sitting next to the Cyclones bench and as Don Biggs was walking down the hall to the locker room the guy said(I'm keeping it clean here)"hey Don, your wife was great last night, tell her thanks for me". Now that to me is over the line. You cant talk about somebodys family like that.

I think these days for whatever reason people are so politically correct and against anything that they find offensive. People need to stop worrying about things and getting so angry at every little thing that happens and just have fun. Just go with the flow and be happy, especially for hockey games, playoff hockey games for that matter. Like somebody said its hockey, not barney on ice.

GO HABS GO!!!

Agreed.

Here's an example...
Let's say I print up a bunch of flyers that say CycloneRyderfan73 is an A-hole, and distribute them thoughout USBA on a game night. Several fans see these and laugh. Those fans know for a fact that CycloneRyderfan73 does not have a rectum on his face, therefore, he/she is not an A-hole. Was that "slanderous"? No. Will CycloneRyderfan73 contact any agency and complain about his/her defamation of character? No. Now, let's say I take out an ad in the Cincinnati Enquirer, and print that same statement. The answer to the above 2 questions would probably be yes. Now, I ask you all, how many times have you stated that a player, manager, or referee was an A-hole, c***sucker, motherf*****, ba*****, son-of-a-b****, or likewise and not servered, or payed, any restitution? Puts things in a different light eh?

***DISCLAIMER***
The above EXAMPLE does not in any way, shape, or form imply that CycloneRyderfan73 is in fact an A-hole. The above statement about CycloneRyderfan73 is used solely as an EXAMPLE. I've never met CycloneRyderfan73, so I couldn't tell you if he/she is or isn't.
***END DISCLAIMER***
I put that in there so someone couldn't go all spastic or anything.

I liken this to the fact that some people can dish it out in their house, but can't take it in another.

The "See you in 2009" could be taken as a friendly comment in my opinion. On the other hand I thought the "Hey Hey Good Bye" song was a bit over the line given that it was the Storm's last game.

In years past, the Clones have played that when sending an opponent packing during the playoffs I believe. (I could be wrong) I don't think that it was played because the storm were going to be dark for 2 years but because we were knocking him out of the playoffs.

I know that we have. The difference this that this didn't end the season for the storm but instead ended the storm as a team. Cincinnati especially should have been able to feel some sympathy pain from that situation.

Get Clones instead of Clunkers.

Actually I agree with you on everything but the "gay player" flier. I personally wouldn't give a flying puck if a player came out of the closet because that is his right and his business but don't make up that type of garbage just to heckle the other team and their fans. I would be pretty ticked off if it was me in that flier.

There is another issue here that I think should be considered. I think this type of nonsense turns off a lot of potential fans and makes hockey more of a fringe sport then it should be.

Get Clones instead of Clunkers.
