Yep, Miracle on ice. Being from Dayton, there was no hockey on TV. Until those Olympics, I didnt even know what the sport was. But I got hooked. I remember thinking that the players in their helmets and sticks leaping off the bench onto the ice looked like WWI photos of the soldiers going over the top. It wasnt until college that I really got to see lots of hockey after that.
I never knew that hockey existed until one night in the early 1970s when I was changing the radio station and stumbled upon a Cincinnati Swords radio broadcast. It sounded so exciting I was instantly hooked. I listened to several Swords broadcasts after that but the first game I ever saw was the Stingers.
That is why I am very happy to have the Cyclones on the radio. Lets hook some new hockey fans.
Get Clones instead of Clunkers.

My best memories are my first Cyclones game in 1990 and seeing my beloved Canadiens play at the old Montreal Forum in 1993. There I was an 11 year old kid watching my favorite team beat the hated Maple Leafs. I saw Gilbert Dionne and Denis Savard score goals and I got to see Patrick Roy make many amazing saves.
If anyone ever gets a chance to see a game in Canada, go see it! It's an unforgettable experience. I got chills that night when the Habs were introduced and the sellout crowd in the Forum was rockin. It would be nice to see people in the states care about hockey the way they do in Canada.
