My biggest problem is the Cyclones can send me an email about upcoming events, but I have to find out about the Season Opener being rescheduled and this delay/ cancellation by checking websites. The least they should have done last night is alert the season ticket holders and alert the local media. |

No offense taken at all. I totally agree that a backup Zamboni is the way to go. I was defending maintenance procedures, because anything can happen. The machines get run hard, and only run hard, their entire lives. I totally agree with you that they need a backup - even if the team has to front the money for it. They have no excuse for not having a backup. There was a 1977 machine on ebay motors for $3000 the day Dayton's broke down.
"Chitty" as we call the backup at USBA, is an unpredictable beast - which is why we brought the newer one back on ASAP.
As for the mixed messages about the game, I think I have clarification. I didn't not know about the Interstate, but that makes perfect sense now. The first call I got was to be on stand-by because Wheeling's bus was broke down and the game might be "off" or at least delayed. Then Wheeling got a bus from Columbus, so the Cyclones had to decide whether or not to play. It was a difficult decision because it always stinks to postpone a game, but 10:00 PM is horrible, and the crew for Dierks Bentley had to load-in early Saturday monring. The decision was made to play the game late. Then, suddenly, I got the call that it was postponed until Tuesday. I got this call late and it didn't make sense to cancel it so close to game time - but the interstate shut-down fills in that void.
Just a rotten night. By the way, the t-shirt incident is a pending blog entry. I just have not had time to put it in. |

I wonder what happened to Hara arena's Zamboni and if their ice ever gets used. A truck could have gotten it over to the Nutter Center the same way we could probably rent for the night The Garden's,Northland Ice or Sport's Plus in a bind. Last night I had my "game face" on,so I may have snapped more than I should have. Thanks for not taking it personally. |

| Apparently it was a combination of things that resulted in Wheeling not showing up and different people we're only telling bits and pieces of the story. Andrew (my tkt rep) said that the bus was broke and the nearest bus they could find to use on such short notice was in Columbus so they had to drive from Columbus to Wheeling just to pick the guys up. That was around 4pm and when the bus wasn't in Wheeling by 630 b/c of the traffic, they decided it wasn't going to happen. I have taken to like my new tkt rep as much as I enjoyed Matt last year. He's pretty on top of things. It's very unfortunate that they all aren't on the same level (and Andrew is only in his 1st year out of college so he's not the most experienced guy out there...if that says anything for the lack of enthusiasm by certain other tkt reps). Ok I'm done now :-) oh and PS. glad I could save one person the trouble! Sorry the rest of you had to make the drive for nothing! |

I was at work and was not going to the game but when I got home Andrew had called me about the delay in the game. The phone call was made at 530pm. I got text updates from friends who I knwere already downtown saying the game was in a delay. But who would think Wheeling bus would not make it? The weather was good. But I had a call from my ticket rep, so atleast Andrew was trying to inform the people before leaving for the game. |

| I don't have season tickets so I don't have a ticket rep but I got a ton of calls and texts about it. I guess it's just who you know haha. Like I said though, when I was getting a few different versions I called one of the reps and he filled me in. |

Usually when something like this happens, you can either use it for the postponed game, exchange it for another game, or get a refund. I am sure you would be mad if you were in town for the weekend, bought a ticket to friday's games and was told that it was only good on Tuesday, or at a later date. |

1st, "The game has been rescheduled for Tuesday, November 20 at 7:30pm at U.S. Bank Arena. Patrons holding tickets for Friday’s game may redeem their tickets for any other 2007-08 Cincinnati Cyclones regular season home game" as per http://www.cycloneshockey.com/news_data.php?article=00317

| fantastic game when rangers win...btw i thought columbus had some ignorant fans, the people we sat around were total @$$-bags. |
What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
