Looks like we could have a Hockey team without a home after this season. Details: http://enquirer.com/midday/03/03052003_News_mday_hockey05.html

Makes you wonder if the Arena has other plans for those 36 dates. And what happened to the 15-year lease agreement from last year.

Also was the town meeting a direct response to the Arena's actions? If you look back, you'll see it was announced the same day the Arena told the team it was terminating the lease.

One question- if the Cyclones are kicked out and have to fold,
how many of you are going to support the arena football team? Now
that Xavier basketball is gone, could the Gardens use another 40
games. How about a Northern Kentucky arena site? So many questions.

I think I can safely say that my husband and I will not support events at USBA if the Clones lose their law suit. If the Clones do lose, an arena would take years to build. And who would pay for it?

What events? 8 arena football games a year and a few bad concerts? (Got Cher?) This move on paper doesn't make that much sense if the arena is indeed trying to grow, they can't really be losing that much on the 'Clones, and what they do lose makes up for itself by using them as a scapegoat to push their lame ice skating and motocross events. We'd have to see the books to be sure, but this move doesn't correspond with a positive future for the arena, unless it involves high explosives.

I think you may have something when saying explosives-or at
least a wrecking ball! Maybe this is a ploy to wake the team up
and put them to work filling seats. This team looked so promising
with the trip to Europe for the season ticket holders, the new
coach with a great attitude and even the return of Mike Casselman
as a friendly face on the ice. I blame this all on the curse of
Pete Rose. As soon as that dumb hockey jersey with Rose's name
went up, all the bad promotions started.

Maybe they are losing money because of the 150 ushers there for every Cyclones game? Most of them don't even move all night! Cut down on your overhead at the games. BTW, the arena has seen the last $ I will spend there. I will not buy another item from the concession stands the rest of the year. If they don't want my hockey money, I won't give it to them. I think this is a good place to start the protest.

The team doesn't promote the arena? How about the arena providing a decent place for the fans of the team. The game after the Fishy concert was probably one of the nastiest enviroments I have ever been in. The place was a mess and stunk.

My concern is even if the team wins the lawsuit and gets to play there next year, the arena doesn't want them now. What kind of dates are we going to get? It was bad enough with the 16 weeknight games this year.

Since it looks like the Arena doesn't want us, I wonder if an
arena seating about 10,000 could be built say in northern Kentucky
or ice added at UC or Xavier? If a one year window was needed, how
about Miami U. for a year. As usual, we only have pieces of this
puzzle and the coverage is scarce.
