Hello fans. My name is Sharon Turco and I am a reporter for The Cincinnati Enquirer. I wrote Tuesday's internet story about U.S. Bank Arena terminating the Cyclones' lease at the end of the month. I am working on a more in-depth story for Wednesday's paper and am looking for fan reaction.
You can reach me at 513-768-8387. You can also e-mail me at sturco@enquirer.com.
In a nutshell: unless a judge says the arena violated their contract with the team by terminating the lease, the Cyclones will have to move out of the arena. A team lawyer says there is nowhere else to go.
Thank you.

Wow the Enquirer wants to write a story about the Cyclones? AWESOME! Oh wait, it's concerning something negative again. I don't remember a whole lot of coverage about the team making the playoffs every year or all the community service done, the Concrete 'Clones program, CAHA, festivals, etc. But they'll sure as hell send you out to try to stir the pot when the team's future is in jeopardy. Does your editor have you go to hospitals and cheer for cancer too?

Nothing personal Ms. Turco, but why are you and your paper interested? You never give this team or it's fans the time of day, so why should we talk to you now? In a nutshell: your paper can cram it!

Well Ms. Turco, I have to agree with my fellow Cyclones fans. The Enquirer never gave the team any coverage. Now that there's a negative story, you jump on it. The best part is that you want our reaction! hahahahahaha If you would have asked to talk to us about the team, we would have jumped at the chance. Now....I DON'T THINK SO!!

I agree with your comments. However, I did write to the reporter and told her "It will be a sad day for the city of Cincinnati to lose the Cyclones. They have done so much to promote hockey and the players have always willingly donated their time and energies to make this town a better place to live." With all the negatives that will be printed, I had hoped something positive would be said.
I have written many letters to the editor, complaining about the lack of coverage, and promoting Cyclone Hockey. I hope my comments will be printed.

Nice responses. It is funny the Enquirer wants help. Try going to a game. Call Julie Engebrecht for a response. She loves hockey.

The Enquirer will publish a photo of the Cyclones or the arena
owners going to court, but why couldn't they have published a
photo of some hockey action at a game. The only photo they would
ever publish is of two players fighting or an injured player with
blood on their face.

Then again, there's no such thing as bad publicity...

Speaking as someone who works "in the media", I don't think it's fair to blast Sharon for her employment of the Enquirer. As a reporter, I doubt she has much say in editorial decision. Just sayin', don't shoot the messenger.

That aside, yes, why does this team only get negative coverage? Not much was written on Joe Cardarelli getting player of the month in the ECHL. Nothing was written about the European trip. Nothing was written on our great streak back in late November. However, if the possibility that the team's ready to "git outta town!", they hardly have enough ink.

I think I speak for everyone when I say "feh!".

I am not blasting on Sharon but the company she works for. For all I know she is a Hockey fan who wants to help but since she has the name Cincinnati Enquirer behind her I dont think to many people will talk.
