I was just on the E's web site & David Deharnis is the only Cyclones player going to the game. Makes me wonder what J-M has to do to prove his worth! |
Hockey is life. All the rest is just small stuff.

| Its because the ECHL all-star game is more of a futures game and not really an all-star game. It sucks because we have 5 players that could easily make the all-star team. |

yes it is a prospect game, if that is so then how in the he** can yanick tifu be considered that and jm is not ?
i guess if anything that carries a common thread is the elmira and the clones each got only one player while teams like dayton and agusuta got two players.
here is hoping that the end of season awards refelct the true all-league players and not prospects.
until the echl changes its format for the all-star game or re-align the teams so there are equal teams in the respected divisions/conferences this is truly not an all-star game but a show case of the possible stars of tomorrow in the ahl and possibly the players of nhl caliber in years to come.
why not do a prospect/rookie all-star team and then a all-star team. costly , yes, but an alternate to what is being displayed now. both games could be played the same day (double header type).
enough of my ranting for now.

| Tifu deserves it probably more than anyone in the league. That being said, I also don't see how Daoust could be overlooked. |

| First team to score 100 goals and on a pace to score close to 300 and one all-star? Congrats to David but should of been a few more :( |

It doesn't help we have 16 teams in the American and only 9 teams in the National side of the ECHL. Maybe some of the southern teams like Texas could have been moved to the West. After all, this is an All Star game, not a league game. |

| I wonder about this. I can easily see David, thats understandable, but I can also see JM, Matt Syro, and maybe even Ceddy going into this, but whatever, the ECHL has always been shifty with its All-Star game in my opinion. |

Daoust got skarooed. He's on pace for 58 goals and 47 assists. Not all-star numbers? The remarkable part about his production is that he went goal-less in his first seven games.
I don't know anything about the ECHL all-star selection process. It may require that there is a representative from each team. With 15 teams in the conference that would leave many worthy players off the team.
I'm sure he'll forget about this snub when he's named League MVP at season's end. |

I was surprised to see that he wasn't named to the all-star team but if I remember correctly it's more of a FUTURES game than an all-star game.
It's pretty obvious given the number of rookies that made the squad.
At least all of the starters are NOT rookies. They gave a couple of the guys a bump- even if they left some of the better Cyclones hanging......
Interesting thing would be to see which of these guys, that made the all-star team, is NOT under an affiliate contract. Meaning how many of these players is signed by there ECHL club |

With all the talk of "FUTURES" game, how about a new format. Two teams filled from ALL teams. One made up of all "rookies" and one made up of all "veterans". How about JM on one team and DD on the other. How about Tifu against Beaudon. How about a line with Jean-Michel and Yannick Tifu together ! |
