What in the H--- happened to the website? What is this "Thunderclap" business? Is this having to do with a new look? Maybe a move to AHL? In the words of Mr. Belding, "Hey, hey, hey, WHAT is going on here!" |

If it IS a move to AHL, who would become their affiliate? They would have to choose between Nashville and Florida |

Again, incorrect. Both of those teams already have AHL affiliates already. |

Teams can't just move up to the AHL. An existing AHL franchise would have to relocate to Cincinnati, and as the Miami Matadors did in 2001, take on the Cyclones name. |

The website has been set up for an announcement on August 28th a month away. If this was going to be the announcement of anAHL franchise moving here they wouldn't wait a month to announce it. They would do so now so they could get going on the marketing, schedules, ticket sales etc. The web site is also full of ticket sale info which they wouldn't be if an AHL team were relocating. Probably changes in logo and colors which I think is a waste of time and money but it is their buck.
Beyond that, how can anyone really think an AHL team would come here? Middle of the road attendance for regular season and lowest in league for playoffs with one of the largest metro areas to draw from in the league and one of the lowest pricing schedules yet even many of the loyal fans here think the current tickets are too expensive and talk about not coming if ticket prices are raised which they would be dramatically for an AHL franchise. This is NOT a hockey city and never will be. Be thankful that we at least have franchise that puts a quality product on the ice year in and year out for the level they are at. |

Attendance wouldn't matter much if an NHL team owned the AHL franchise. It would be about player development first and foremost.
The primary reason Anaheim went elsewhere was the travel schedule an AHL team in Cincinnati faces isn't good for player development. Not enough practice time and too many three games in three nights. Once Lexington and Louisville left the AHL, the clock was ticking on the AHL in Cincinnati. |

The Albany River Rats moved to Charlotte and the Checkers name got bumped up with it... Donnie is right, you cant just move to the AHL without another team moving up...
The AHL move buzzed into my brain simply because it seemed too large a secret and the website overhaul seemed too big.... when that occurs people start asking questions. I think were E for a very long time, and I like it in the ECHL... |

@gfd28 Those things are hideous. Furthermore, while it seems Evansville's deal with Columbus is up in the air, the Cyclones announced extending their affiliation with Nashville (http://echl.com/cyclones-renew-affiliation-with-nashville-p192546) so unless we're backing out of that deal I'd find it hard to believe the team would sell out to put the CBJ logo on the sleeves. Personally, I think selling out the teams identity to align with the colors and images of a parent club is a little silly. While it makes decent sense from a marketing stand point, from a hockey stand point, the CBJ have never had a lot of depth beyond the AHL level but that could be changing. I've been expecting to see them get deeper for the last few seasons as they've been drafting well, but so far it hasn't come to fruition. |

I've got no inside track on this so it's a complete guess, but i'd say it's a new logo/jersey scheme and possibly an additional affiliation. I know that we're re-signed with Nashville for another year, but who knows, maybe they'll double up. I'd be shocked if it were a league change for 2015-2016, especially a year out, that seems like the least likely of the three big possibilities. I doubt that they'd do something like this for anything more minor like a new mascot. Twister does need a serious bath though if he doesn't get retired, he reeked last season. |

Another longshot could be something to do with the rink renovation, but I don't know that they would hold that info and allow a AA minor league hockey team kind of "own" that kind of news. I suppose that anything to generate press for the team in the awful media coverage that is Cincinnati (Special mention to the Enquirer as it's one of the worst daily newspapers in the country that this guy has seen. And that goes for not only hockey coverage but all news.) is a good thing. |

First of all, good effort but these uniforms are still abysmal... I dont think the Cyclones would ever switch colors so drastically!
Second of all, I would imagine that if Columbus DID affiliate with Cincinnati, I am sure that Florida and Nashville would have something to say about this... they are the current affiliates and to have a 3rd NHL affiliation is absolutely ludicrous!
Third of all, if a logo change is to be made, I am sure it would be a lot like either the current logo of the return of the hockey mask... I can't wait to see what occurs on the 29th
