My final thoughts on this thread and before tonight's game...
I agree 100%. The Cyclones have no reason to fear Reading. Absolutely, I want to see Cincy annihilate them - break their hearts, shatter their bodies, destroy their minds, take their manhood and eat their lunch.
I merely caution against hubris. Despite the fact that the team won the Brabham Cup and that the Clones compiled a very good record against Reading this year, there is no room for hubris. The aforementioned stats regarding the number of Brabham Cup winners who also take the Kelly Cup is evidence of the annual tournament's habit of swallowing, for whatever reasons, the favored teams.
We all have waited too long for a championship. I do not want to see it slip away because our arrogance drove us to take the enemy for granted.
In conclusion, I call on the team and fans to rally to the call. Destroy all who stand in the way, take no enemy for granted, make every check and destroy the opposition on the boards, drive to the net like a Banshee unleashed, hold nothing back.
All your heart, all your love, everything you've got. Do this and you will raise the cup...and we, the fans, will celebrate you forever. |

Apparently half the team was thinking like those of you on here that thought this would be an easy series. So much for that cake walk right? There's a reason that REA has made it this far in the POs, and any team that we may face after REA is going to be twice as difficult.
I know we are gonna watch wins and losses, but IMO the boys did not play well at all tonight. For those of you that didn't get the video feed, it looked just as bad as it sounded... if not worse. I thought we looked very sloppy with rebounds. Beau's mistake at the end of the game was crushing. We may not have went on to win the game anyway, but that was just bad.
Onto GAME 2! Hopefully we can win Saturday and bring it back home and finish them out. After tonights loss, anyone that may have thought this was going to be easy should now be awake and smelling the f'ing coffee. |

| As I said on this board all season long, Reading is the best team we have played this season. They matchup very well with us. They have skilled forwards all through their lineup, a pretty solid mobile defense, and Taylor in goal gives them a chance to win every game they play. Their coach is also one of the top coaches in the league. I still think we win the series because we are just a bit better. Even as terrible as we played tonight it was a 1 goal game and we had a powerplay with 2 mins left and a chance to tie. Hopefully the rust is knocked off now from the week long layoff and they realize they aren't unbeatable. Anyone think we'll see Ceddy for game 2 or will Chuck give Max a chance to redeem himself? |

| I think we'll definitely see Desjardins. I agreed with starting Max who had just had a great hot series against the Chiefs, but it's now time to back to Weber's magic tandem method now that we have him back and Max lost his steam in Game 1. |

I agree(about Ceddy in goal on Sat) but we shouldnt put the blame all on Max. 2 breakaway goals, Max made some great saves tonight.
The battle was lost tonight but the war long from over. |

I'm chalking this one up to rust. I thought that the Clones dominated play in the third period. Giving up two shorthanders ain't gonna win you many playoff games. I thought we'd tie it when we got the 5 on 3 with 3 minutes to go. Beauregaurd got the puck stolen by the guy coming out of the penalty box-one of those stuff happens type of things.
Max earned the start with his stellar play vs. Johnstown. He has now earned the responsibility of door opener until Cedric plays poorly. |

| All I have to say is Ceddy is gonna get a warm welcome back to the ECHL ice. Hopefully he can bring the boys back up and get this rolling. |

"not so sure "hand reading with ease". They are just coming off a well played fight to win their series. They will no doubt have a lot of that same fight waiting for the Cyclones. I only know that our guys will be rested (and hopefully not rusted) come game time on Thursday." 4/20
Little did I realize how right I was going to be. From what I was able to hear of the game (had radio on while working) until I got home and could listen without interuption. Reading played their game from the start and were able to keep the Cyclones off balance and play 'reactive' rather than 'proactive'. Come Saturday night I honestly believe it will be a whole new game and Reading will be the ones trying to keep up. Our coach will remind our players how they got here and that they need to get back to that same unity of purpose.
Let's go CYCLONES!!!

| I still stand behind what I said, Clones in 5, look guys Reading has nothing to loose, They came out ball to the walls and caught us with our pants down, Reading Is still INFERIOR to us, I might get alot of heat from this but WE lost this game, Reading despite taking game 1 did nothing that we are not used to seeing them play! Now get you heads in the game and beat them like a Red Headed step-children, No offence to step-children who have red hair damn it. I hear...well they(Reading) didn't get this far by being bad...Well we didn't either...and if they were so damn good then we wouldn't be 8-1-1 against them, Damn I'm pissed. Now I have to listen to all the I told you sooos From the all those on here that think we need to be afraid of big bad Reading. We should have beat them by 10, Sorry about the venting! |

I don't think we need to be afraid of any team, we need to be afraid of our boys letting up. They are good, and Reading is good too, just not to our level.
The only thing that will hold the clones back is their own gameplay. |

| It was one game, they still have to win three more to knock us out. If we get a split on their ice in the first two games, this series is over. Put Ceddy in, win Saturday, and there will be nothing to worry about. |

I'm worried about last night repeating itself. Reading got the W and OBVIOUSLY proved that they can beat us. Yes, we hold a better record than EVERYONE in the league, but does that mean each game is going to be a sinch? Negative. Yes, our record against them is 8-1-1, but does that show perfection against this team like there is NO way we are going to lose? Nope. We can't go out there with that mindset that we are unbeatable. Taylor and the REA crew proved us wrong on that one last night. Hopefully we tie things up tomorrow night. I'm looking to watch a MUCH better game then I did last night.

READING IS A TEAM THAT NOT LONG AGO WAS WORRIED IF THEY WERE GOING TO MAKE THE PLAYOFFS?..YES THIS GAME SHOULD HAVE BEEN MORE THAN A SINCH, I HEARD...OH I'M WORRIED ABOUT J-TOWN...WE KNOW HOW THAT ENDED. I'M NOT CERTAIN WHY ALOT OF YOU FELT THIS WAS GOING TO BE A CLOSE SERIES, NOTHING READING HAS SHOWN ME WOULD PROVE OTHERWISE. WE CAME INTO THIS SERIES MISJUDGING A MEDIOCRE TEAM, NOTHING LESS, NOTHING MORE.
