Last night's game was filled with ups and downs-any comments?
Pros- The stupid (but keep giving them out)thundersticks seem to
liven the crowd up.It wasn't the Gardens but at least you didn't
need to check the crowd for a pulse.
Cons- What was worse, Randy's goaltending or the offense or the
powerplay? I've defended Randy before but 5-360 degree spins in
front of the net means he needs some SERIOUS coaching help on
playing under control. And please, catch the puck and hold it when
a shot occurs with the other team all around you.
Your turn.

Think what you said covered a lot.
Will add what I saw lacking last night, was some of the TEAMWORK noted in games past. Backing each other up and controling the puck across the blue line. The Dump & Chase method does not work as often/frequent as it is used.
On the positive, the players are improving vastly on stealing the puck off the opponents stick.........now if they can control and score a few more goals, the team will turn around quickly!

The announced attendance was 2198. It seemed like there were more than that. I have been complaing about the "ushers" allowing people to walk around while the puck is in play. Arena management just doesn't care. Last night was horrible. We sit in the middle behind Wildman and our play is blocked when people are wandering around looking for their seats. When the ushers bring them down during play......we complain, but to no avail.
Last night during a power play members of the Thunder Squad were throwing tee-shirts. The whole section in front of us stood up and our play was blocked while the Clones were trying to score. It is so frustrating!
I have to say that my heart just isn't there anymore. I use to be so upset if I missed a game. We won't be attending any of the Wednesday games in November or December, and I just don't care! I don't want to feel that way, but I do anyway.
It has nothing to do with the way the team is playing. I am just tired of the lack of respect for season ticket holders. We have had full season tickets for 12 seasons. (maybe more, I have lost count)
Also the stat sheets that I buy before each game are really lacking stats!!! Same price as last season, with half as much info.
I know that I am rambling, I just needed to get this off my chest. Thanks for listening!

I agree, I'm just not into this season at all. My biggest bitch is the same as it has been for the last 3-4 years, get someone in the booth who knows how to use a volume control. I'm tired of having my eardrums abused! I work in a high noise enviroment, and wear hearing protection to keep my hearing. The noise level at the arena is at time above safe work enviroments as described by OSHA. I don't want to loose my hearing at a hockey game. Every guest I have ever brought to a game complains about the noise level. I understand you have to play music, but it does not have to be that loud. And I am tired of evertime Wildman starts a sentence, the volume level is at 110 DBA. Is it just me, or was last night the worse it has been?
Ranting complete.

I agree with what has been written here. My ears hurt from the loud music. I can never understand Wildman when he talks. The Thunder squad is always going up and down the steps in 101. Doesn't matter if the puck is in play or not. If they can do it why should the people care. It just doesn't seem to be the same this year. I can't get too enthused. You know I'm loosing interest when I leave the arena before the game is over. I think the guys are giving it their all but management doesn't seem to have a clue.

The noise level is deafening!! I forgot to mention that. We can never understand what Wildman is saying, but if we move up several rows it does get somewhat better. Last night when he did the interview with Brindley, I thought my ear drum would bust!!
We can also not understand what Sarah is saying. Very annoying to have noise but no understanding.
If the die-hard fans are losing interest....what next??

I disagree with the comments on the power play, I was actually rather impressed with the movement they got on it last night. I also somewhat disagree on the complaints about the noise; I think the music is fine, maybe it's just our end zone where it isn't as loud; the selection is hit and miss but I don't think that's something they'll ever get entirely right. The PA and announcement stuff is a joke seeing as you can't hear any of it and it is entirely too loud. Most of the people are chewing on the microphones and need to pull it back a few inches to increase clarity.

I'm not really into the games anymore either, it's just not exciting or fun to go to. The place is empty every night and there's seemingly no attempts to get asses in the seats on a regular basis. I think the season ticketholders are treated well and I can't believe people could complain about our benefits. I'm happy with the parking and ticket price reduction, and there's other stuff that I don't even take advantage of like the after game party or whatever they do and interaction with the team. I honestly could care less anymore most nights, it's just something to do, but not something to look forward to. This front office should be concerned when the few remaining diehards start pulling away. I'm not sure they're really bothered by it though.

I'm starting to think we should have gone out with a bang when the IHL folded and not limp along like we have ever since that time.

I think the season ticket holders have great benefits but our concerns go unheeded. I would give up some benefits if they would not let people go to their seats during the play!!

I didn't go last night (for reasons I won't get into) and won't go tonight. You know what? BIG DEAL. The game atmosphere just plain sucks. Maybe it's time.

Hmmmmmmmmm can relate to all the complaints about the arena and the activity of the Thunder Squad (agree they are distracting during game play)...... yet why is it that a thread talking about the game became another forum for complaints about arena sound system and management thereof? Just curious.

PROS - (1) forechecking is outstanding at times. i see quite the few turnovers caused, especially from mr. 110% Clair.

CONS - (1) the quality of the powerplay. we seem to never hit anything but a man in front. (2) wiffing on open shots.. or letting great passes to set up a great shot roll off the stick. that happened NUMEROUS times tonight (saturday -vs johnstown). puck control - A MUSSST!

---------------------------

of course everynight the pro/cons shift because the team loves riding that rollercoaster -inconsistency. i'm sure once we get a stable team on the ice they can finally start working all of that out - damn injuries. i think everyone else covered it about the arena/management. i'd like to see us w/ a new intro song myself. i'm tired of "thunderstruck".

Okay were all talking! Pros and Cons for Saturday night is the
difference between night and day.
Pros- That was the best game I've seen in years. When the team finally
decided Irbe was not GOD and started shooting, we scored.I would have
thought we had no chance in the shootout but miracles happen.
Cons- I agree the PA system has to be fixed. When I'm finished here
my next E-mail is going to the Cyclones to complain about the PA
and the ushers. Why do we need a million ushers looking over our
shoulders? One for every-other seat break would cut costs in half
and still cover any problems.Petruk look more under control and never
once saw a 360 spin. Randy please make a full puck stop when the
opposing team is four feet away.Use the glove more and less with
the stick.Maybe this is the seasons turning point!!!

Before I could write the Cyclones I found another item to ask
about. The USA TODAY site shows attendance was only 3122. Who
is doing the counting because I would have guessed more like
4500 to 5500.I wonder if they only count the Main entrance and
not the East side entrance?

I thought last nights game was great. Last nights attendance was also refreshing to see. Obviously they have some bugs to work out in the front office, but if they get the attendance up I think we will all see some very positive changes at the games. Unfortunately this is a bussiness and they need to make money to do anything and it will take some time. Compared to last year this is 100% improvement.

First off, Last night I saw Paul Lawless at the game. Just was wondering if something was in the making of him coming back to be part of the team/ownership..ect. or was he just there to enjoy the game.
Cons: Is the sound system for sure. I think the best is to have all the speakers above or near the scoreboard. Instead of having the speakers right you. Sound is disturbed throughout the whole arena evenly. I've seen this done in many arenas and their sound system sound great.
Con: Injuries. Its hard to get a solid line each game with different guys out of the lineup.
Pros. The two new guys are giving a solid performance. Randy either has a great game or he plays like he shouldn't be in this league.
Con on Randy. Seems like the right face-off circle is where all the goals come from. The defense need to make sure no shots are taken from there or Randy need to work on his blocker save from that spot.

I guess they want to understate how many people were there than overstate. Personally, I though we were close to 5k.

Good game last night, the effort was better on all fronts. Randy redeemed himself a bit following Friday night but this team still has some work to do.

As for the front office... feh. Ptooie on them. They don't know what they're doing. They must not think Hockey's not promotable in this city. Hence that hideous Elvis spot.
