Good riddence. From the Phil Esposito fiasco to the Nederlander Matt Dunne fiasco, this franchise sucked. I don't mean the team, but the management. Gone are the good old days of Doug and the IHL. Thanks for the memories....................

The Cincinnati Cyclones announced today that the franchise’s request to suspend operations has been approved by the ECHL. The Cyclones will suspend operations for the 2004-05 hockey season.

The ECHL suspension is effective for the 2004-05 season. U.S. Bank Arena is looking at several options to return hockey to the building for the 2005-06 season.

"We appreciate the support we’ve had from our dedicated fans," said U.S. Bank Arena General Manager Matt Dunne. "We remain optimistic that hockey will return to U.S. Bank Arena."

U.S. Bank Arena is Cincinnati’s premier entertainment venue. U.S. Bank Arena continues to bring the best in family entertainment, concerts and special events to Cincinnati.

I'm sure there's more than they're admitting to.

Too numb to think, but management hasn't proven themselves to be trustworthy. There are other leagues. The AHL team needs resolution. Columbus also pulled out of the ECHL and are likely to be the Bradenton/Sarasota team in 2005-06, or in the SEHL next season. There are other markets to be sold to.

It will be a long, sad summer!

I'm still holding out for the Columbus BlueJackets moving out of Syracuse, take over the Gardens, buy the Cyclones name and hire Malcolm Carmeron!

The Ducks are not leaving town. The quicker you all get that in your heads, the better off you'll be.

I heard the rumors about Anaheim leaving, too, but the only place I heard that was at USBA or from USBA employees. Unless someone can actually produce verifiable, legitimate proof (i.e., something in print) to show me otherwise, we've got the Ducks for, at the least, another season.

And Revved... Columbus can't take over the Gardens because it's the Robinsons, not Anaheim or Columbus, who hold the franchise.

I'd love for Columbus to put their guys in the Gardens. It makes more sense than serving as an affiliate for a California team. But until that day happens, it's going to be Ducks or road trips.

I know that. I'm HOPING Columbus aligns with the Robinsons and Anaheim pulls out. Stop being so literal

Hey REVVED, if the Cyclones come back with ANY connection to the
Robinsons I'll burn my jerseys and never see another Cyclones game
again.I hate those people so much I'll start rooting for PEORIA!!
Maybe you didn't get the privilege of wading thru urine on the floor
and no toilet paper in the bathrooms when you are packing 9,000 fans
in a 10,000 seat barn. The Robinsons stepped up only when they lost both
Xavier basketball and Cyclones hockey.Looks like Dayton hockey for me
next year.

What's wrong with Peoria? I would beat up a cabbie to rout for my baby Blues!

As the Prez says, we'll travel to Toledo, Dayton, Wheeling, Indy, Ft. Wayne, wherever we have to - it's about the game and the friends we've made that lace them up night in and night out!

WOW, I get a hit contract put on me for being slightly more optimistic and not being around for the "Good Ol' Days"? I've struck nerves with a lot of people, but I don't remember anyone going to such extremes - not even Gonzoid!
