Did you catch the front page (it must be negative) story on the Cyclones. Alot of the story was good and true, but The Robinson's make it sound like the Ducks are prospering at the Gardens.A buddy from work who has gone to a few Saturday Ducks games says the 4500 attendance figure is greatly inflated. If they are the only game in town next year,I guarantee their attendance claim will grow another 1000,new fans or not. I will be real mad if the Enquirer starts giving them big coverage due to "only one team in town". Lets go Dayton! |

For those that haven't read it:
http://www.enquirer.com/editions/2004/04/12/spt_spthok1a.html
Like the way the media took none of the responsibility/credit.
Having come in on the tail end of the saga, it still never made sense to me how things had gone down hill so fast - but what do I know? I came from a town that almost lost a hockey team only to have the NHL and the city step in and block their demise and rebuilt it into a team that has been in the playoff the last 25 years! |

Every quote that I've ever read from the Robinson's has been true. I've never read anything negative in the press from the Robinson's about the Cyclones. I've talked with Don Helbig numerous times and he was never negative about the Clones either. But I didn't become a Clones fan until 94 and started working for the team in 95. So I don't have a beef with the Robinson's or the Ducks like most of the people on this board.
Lets face facts people. The Cyclones are dead and the Ducks are still here. So if You want to watch hockey in Cincinnati, you are going to have to put away your hatred for the Robinson's and hatred of the stupid Ducks name and deal with it. The Cyclones were fun until this year and it's time to move on. I love hockey and I'm a Ducks fan. So Quack quack!

Maybe in a few decades I will forgive the Robinsons and go to a Duck's game. Until then I will follow the Bombers, wearing my Cyclone jersey until we return. |

Is that the sound of Clawd's account being closed?
For what it's worth, I agree. There's been nothing negative from the Robinsons or Helbig with this whole fiasco. The only one gloating is Neville and, of course, we all know why that is, don't we class? |

The part I hate about this situation is I really don't want the Ducks to fail, just the Robinsons. If a Cyclone fan chooses the Ducks next year,I can't blame them if we are not in town.My choice is to go to Dayton. |

Or maybe use the savings to take in a game up in Columbus?
(for the record, I too never 'READ' anything negative said by the Robinsons' or anyone of the Ducks organization in print. Just got it straight from their own mouths!! That is why I can never support any activity in the Gardens, as long as it is under current ownership. I have no ill will towards the Ducks and I hope that they can continue to exsist.) |
