I hear Bengal Justin Smith is due to drop the opening puck. I think it would be hilarious to, upon dropping the puck, to have someone dressed as an NFL ref throw a flag and call "roughing the puck" after the debacle last Sunday. Perhaps the faux ref should then be pummeled (Do the Cyclones have a mascot?). It seems like that could really get the crowd fired up, and could become on of the classic Cyclone "Remember when they did that..." stories. Any one else like that idea?
Ando answer your mascot question, Twister has signed a contract extension and will do the season as the Cyclones mascot. Personally, I would have LOVED to see a possible Snowbird return for the new season (only if done by the original guy of course -- an incredibly nice guy might I had), but there's to wishing too much.
Sam Adams is supposed to be dropping the puck either tommorow night or on Saturday night (I'm confused because I've heard both but have only seen written that Smith will drop it on opening night). If he does it's quite possible that he will make an announcement or a simple mention to the new af2 indoor football team that has been announced coming to Cincinnati.
Good luck to the 'Clones tonight and you all have fun. Unfortunately, I'm heading out of town today for a wedding so will miss the opening weekend festivities. I'm looking forward to reading the details.
