This is a broken record!!!Saturday attendance was 1910 ?What is
going on. What are they counting down at the arena because it sure
isn't butts in the seats. Are we just counting men ages 25 to 35
with black hair and wearing a new Cyclones jersey. I would say we
had at least 3000 people in the stands.Somebody wants us to fail
and this just stinks.

| That's really starting to confuse me as well. Either my logical headcount through games is just completely off or something is messed up. I was in a different section tonight (110 in the center where it gets packed) so maybe I am a little biased but I thought for sure we had a HELL of a lot more than we did last night ... at least 500 more +. I was shocked to come home and see that it was only 1910 ... I'm not saying that it is totally incorrect, but something (even if it's myself) is messing with my head. |

Everybody that doesn't agree with the count do me one favor.
Email your ticket rep right now and demand some answers. This
is just plain BULL%^&*.I have already sent off an email and if
no answers come the ECHL will be emailed to look into this.Somebody
wants us to fail and this can't go on!

| Tonight I thought there might of been 2500. Maybe we got used to the padded numbers in the past years and we are going by what felt like 3000 in the past?? The also might not be counting free tickets given away? Things that make you go mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. |

| I exchanged some unused tickets for tickets to last nights game. I wonder if the exchanged tickets count toward the attendance since I did not actually pay for a ticket last night. Maybe they are only counting paid attendance. I felt like there was 3000 there on Saturday and at least 2000 on Friday. If the numbers that the team reported are in fact accurate, then we are really fighting an uphill battle to make the Cyclones a success. |

Thank you everyone who also is questioning this. Maybe I'm getting
paranoid on this but attendance figures is how the media has justified
not covering us and even the Ducks in the past.The attendance should be
real simple-every ticket that comes in the door,free or pay.If I have
two tickets and redeem them both at the door, then this counts as TWO
people.If I have a free ticket and come in the door,that counts as ONE
person.No one other than workers,should come in without being counted.
Everyone of the female skaters should have been counted because they went
to the stands after their show.Same goes for singers or celebrities that
go to the stands after their involvement on the ice. |

| I think the best way to get the attendance up is going to college's around the area. Make yard type signs and post 5 or so at each college in the most popular areas saying "Cyclones Hockey Tonight at 7:30" Have the ticket reps or someone put them up in the morning and take them down that night. |

I like your idea. Maybe we should make up a sign for our front yards
that say simply "THE CYCLONES ARE BACK AT THE US BANK ARENA" and see
if we can start something!I'm not giving up without a fight. |

Im with all of you! 1900 on Saturday? Thats insane. I was guessing 3000 as well. We also traded in unused tickets, as did the people before me. But then whats the deal with passing through the turnstiles. Given the corners are empty, but the endzones and center ice sections are pretty full.
What happened to little kid hockey? Having that between periods brings the kids, and the team and the parents and the friends and might generate the next generation of fans. |

I was at the Friday game. I was guessing about 2000-2500. I have e-mailed the usba office and the echl office to ask how the attendance figures reported on the gamesheets are calculated. We'll see if I get an answer.
btw, Friday night I caught my first puck from a Cycs game! Everyone else in 130 had cleared out by the time there were 3 minutes to go in the game, and a puck was coming right over my head and I managed to catch it on the fly without breaking my finger!

Here's the response I got from the ECHL office about the attendance figures on the gamesheets on ECHL.com:
"The attendance reported by ECHL teams is tickets out, which is paid admission and complimentary admission."
Interpret and doubt/dispute as you wish, but at least that's the word from the ECHL office on what it is supposed to be.
(btw, I was in about the 4th row of 130 when I caught the puck.)

| College students were the big driving force behind the original Clones. Posts at the various student union halls (like Tangeman Center at UC) and maybe in the university newspapers might help bring in some of the younger crowds. That would be a cheap but possibly effective way of getting the word out. We should be targeting all groups not just families. Also the commuity newspapers (The Western Hills Press) would also be inexpensive and reach most households. |

Looking at the attendance, it might be a bit deceiving. League-wise, few teams have had as many home games (8) as the Cyclones, and three of those were weeknight. Of the five weekend games, the attendance was 4358,3168,3092,1519, and 1910. That averages 2809. Still not good, but far better than the league lowest 2000+ as listed today. After some more weekends, I hope the numbers come back up.
Still a pretty boisterous group tho! |

raptorov, I'm with you on the fact that the weekday games have seriously hurt Cincinnati's average home attendance. However, if you look at other teams in the ECHL playing on the same weekday nights as Cincinnati has played, it seems clear that other cities aren't suffering the same problems - at least not to the same magnitude. There have only been 3 games in the entire ECHL this season that had a reported attendance under 1,000. You get one guess which city all 3 of them happened in.
