I thought the 3rd period was pretty strong. In the first 2 periods they played alright on offense but the defense was solid. A good number of the shots they got in the first 2 periods were not great scoring opportunities. They deserved more than 1 goal in the 3rd though. They had great energy and effort but just couldn't score. I felt alot better about the game Saturday than I did Friday's game. Friday was an all around poor game. Nothing is better than a game against Dayton to get back in the win column.
I felt pretty good about the game, however just dismayed over the state of officiating throughout all of sports, I felt the Wheeling player batted the puck in with his hand and also felt that we should have gotten a whistle and a high sticking call on their second score. You see smoke pouring from my ears every poor call in each of the major sports I watch and the discussion reguarding officiating would blow up my computer.......
The roar that went up Saturday night when the Cyclones scored in the third was impressive. It was like old times. I still cant believe that was 1900. Imagine if there were 6500 there. I thought we had it in the bag at that point. Ugh.
