Cyclones G Dov Grumet-Morris has agreed to a tryout session with the AHL's Portland Pirates. This leaves us Dejardins and we will need a back-up by Wednesday when we travel to Reading. Best of luck you, Dov!

| good for him. he can certianly play at that level. this could work well for the 'clones as well; the more ice time a goalie gets the, the better he usually plays. as far as the back goes, i'm pretty sure there have been some local guys occasionally practicing in the case of emergency and what does fresno have to offer. either way i think cedric becomes the #1 keeper. |

That's great for Grumet-Morris but I would rather see Cedric on an
alternating schedule to keep him fresh while learning.By the way,we
all know who the Portland Pirates use to be (insert duck whistle here). |

It's my fault. I think I caused the Jinx Effect. Saturday night I was thinking that we hadn't had two top goalies in regular alternation since Lorenz/Chabot.

| Actually, Gratz, a Fort Wayne native, played a few games with the Komets last season. He was one of I believe six backup goalies we went through in the beginning of the season. Was he emergency last night or is he here for awhile? |

| Dov played for the Pirates tonight. He was called in at the beginning of the 3rd period. He allowed 1 goal on 13 shots. The Bruins had already scored 5 goals at the end of the second period. The Pirates lost 6-2. |

Is anybody else afraid of burning out a rookie goaltender if
Grumet-Morris stays up with the Pirates and we don't get some
real help in goal to share the load? |

| I'm not certain but I'm pretty sure John Smith (which is the most generic name ever, by the way) was one of the two goaltenders that tried out for the Cyclones who were formerly from SportsPlus and got cut. This is trouble. |

| Yeah, John is a SportsPlus guy. Good dude. I think he also works in the pro shop. He started in roller hockey and also plays in the intermediate levels, Division 3 mostly. They had pretty much an open call for local goalies to try out. I'm sure they are just having a flock of emergency backups, with intent to really have them do any more than sit on the bench and open/close the door. Still, it's pretty cool for a local guy. You never know if he'll get the call and shine. I'm sure they are in the hunt for an appropriate guy. Such is life in the minor leagues. |

| john played in the intersquad scimmage during training camp. he did alright, but he is obviously not the same caliber as cedric and dov, so if he gets a chance and the team can't get some goals they'll be in trouble. |
