After attending the Bombers game Saturday, I feel much better about our home attendance. I actually counted the people there and came up with 1975 (I counted during stopages in play, not in between periods). Reported attendance was around 3400. If the Bombers can survive on 2000 people per game (dispite their inflated attendance figures), there is no reason we cannot make it also. If it weren't for the hundred or so Cyclones fans, the building would have been silent.
The game itself was decent. Dov was outstanding. Just wish our D-men could clear the puck. It would take alot of pressure off of Dov and Ced. Maybe the offense is starting to come to life also. If the Cyclones score 3 goals a game, they will win alot. The goaltending is going to be our strong point all year. |

| I don't understand why so many bomber fans are rooting for the 'Clones to fail. I guess some people can't see that having two teams so close together will only benefit both. You do have many folks coming up from Cincinnati and pouring revenue into your team. You also have a convenient road trip so you have the opportunity to see your team play more games each season. Why would you want that to go away? Is it just talking smack for the sake of talking smack, without considering that the hockey fans of Cincinnati deserve to have a team to root for just as much as the hockey fans of Dayton? |

| How dare you add logical thinking into a conversation with a Dayton fan who only wants the Cyclones to fail! I guess they're banking it won't looking as bad again in the cellar with less teams in the division. |

I don't think I've ever heard more smack coming from fans of an at best average team as I've heard from Dayton fans. If I didn't know any better I would've thought that Dayton was undefeated and had won the cup the last 5 seasons. Last time I checked just making the playoffs is quite an acomplishment for the Bombers. Personally I enjoy going to Dayton to watch the Cyclones play because it is a pretty good rivalry, the games are usually close and the fans all know each other. Why would you want that to end? The logical thinking would be that you want both teams to suceed so along with watching 36 games a year, you can go on the road 5 or 6 times.

What I don't understand why all the fans from other teams seam to enjoy
using this site to take pot-shots at us.Does anybody else feel like they
need to post negatives on a Dayton or Toledo website? I was out of line
with the Toledo fan,but now here comes the Dayton crowd.When we were shut
down,my wife and I made a couple trips to Dayton. I have no problem with
the old Indy,Louisville,Lexington or even Cincinnati Duck fans coming down
and wearing their jerseys. When we go to Las Vegas or Peoria or even Dayton
we wear the Cyclone jerseys.I don't want ANY team to fail and it's bushleague
to make these comments.I miss the Indy road trips when we changed leagues.My
guess is the dedicated Dayton Bomber fans would never want us to leave their
league and break up this rivalry. |

Just thought I would point out the obvious for those of you that just don't get it:
Dayton has played only 13 games, which is 6 less than 1/2 the other teams in the division have played (19 games). They also have 4 games on hand vs. Cincinnati.
Their 7-5-0-1 record gives then a winning percentage of .577
Cincinnati is 8-8-0-1 for a winning percentage of .500
4 games in hand, only 2 points behind the clones, series tied 2-2, etc
Should make for an interesting December.

| I'm well aware of Dayton and Cincinnati's status so far. I was using sarcasm, as I don't really think you want the Cyclones to fail so you have less teams in the division to finish last in. I'm sorry if you couldn't figure that out and felt that you had to explain the team's records like it was foreign to me. I am glad that Dayton (or maybe I should think of an attempted insulting nickname for Dayton to put in every post like you do with the whole comical "Clown" shtick) and Cincinnati and Cincinnati have had close games and the series is tied 2-2 and I agree that the rest of the series will be interesting. You won't see me opposing that. However, it is the countless "clones will fail" comments that make me laugh. |

Alright Cinci fans... here's the deal.
You sit here and blow us crap all the time @ games and online (which is fine and expected,) but the second we mess with the "sacred cow" that is your horrible attendance NOW we're hitting below the belt?
PLEASE... You want to know how to shut us up? It's really simple. Get more people at your games. Get your attendance level above the danger mark of 2,000 and then we won't have any ammo anymore, but when we come down to a game and there are whole sections in the lower bowl with nobody in them, it kind of gives us ammo.
I'd love to see hockey in Cinci succeed. However there is a problem. The plain and simple fact is that it doesn’t matter how many wins you have at the end of the year if you don't have enough butts in the seats to keep the lights on.

I think you're a bit under cynical if you think writing about low attendance on message boards isn't going to upset the fans on said board. One fan can't get people in seats. If you want to go on your own Dayton boards or whatever and talk about it, go ahead. But don't register on another team's boards for the sake of occasionaly coming and writing "you have low attendance" instead of, you know, while it may be a Foreign subject, actually posting about the game or whatever newspiece/discussion is on hand.
Also, I sincerely apologize that I dare express my first ammendment by posting about my favorite team since apparently I shouldn't be since attendance is low. If there isn't a lot of other fans, why should I care what games we win and don't win, right? |

No they are just content to steal from us. Case in point game one of the Cricket Cup when I was down there with some friends. I had my Dayton flag stolen by a few Cinci fans (whom I hadn't spoken to the entire night) Only got it back after a few on Cinci's finest chased them down because the arena security didn't see a need to try to stop them as they were running from the building laughing like a couple of drunk morons.
I digress, you seem to have missed the very point that I was trying to make. I did not intend to come on here to make fun of the Cyclones fan issues, I came here to make fun of the team and the city.
I was under the impression that that's what rival teams did to eachother.
On the same token after the final buzzer sounds on any given night I would love to go out and have a drink with any and all of you as I already have in Cinci a few times.
Anyway - if you are comming to Dayton - I'll be the guy with the big blue flag - come up and say hi - mabye we can get a beer after (or during) the game. |

i understand where the dayton fans are coming from, they have to come here and make fun of us. they find the one peice of ammunition and they just have to keep firing it. take the atttendance issue for example, that is all dayton has to come at us. dayton is a little city living in the shadow of cities with major sports teams like cincinnati and columbus, so they have to rip on something to make themselves feel good. i think the issue goes deeper than hockey. the sports in cincinnati and dayton are better in general. i would challenge you to offer up one dayton sports program that is better than what cincinnati or columbus have to offer. now, i am sure one of the dayton fans that posts here will go to google or wikipedia and do a search and come up with some stat to prove otherwise.
and as far as the attendance issue goes. attendance, isn't built over night. there has not been a hockey team in cincinnati for two years. if you consider the facts that one of those years was the nhl lockout year; which moved hockey even further from the public eye, and the other fall/winter sports in cincinnati have been much improved, it explains a lot. give it time and we will see what happens.
add even if our attendance is a little low, at least parents can bring their teenage daughters to a 'clones game with out fearing that one of the players might try to score off the ice. |

I'm not going to condone stealing someone's flag, but if you act in person the way to do on our message board, you probably deserved to get your flag stolen. On a lighter note, next weeks game here is 18 and over night so at least none of your players should get arrested while here. |
