I think you're a bit under cynical if you think writing about low attendance on message boards isn't going to upset the fans on said board. One fan can't get people in seats. If you want to go on your own Dayton boards or whatever and talk about it, go ahead. But don't register on another team's boards for the sake of occasionaly coming and writing "you have low attendance" instead of, you know, while it may be a Foreign subject, actually posting about the game or whatever newspiece/discussion is on hand.
Also, I sincerely apologize that I dare express my first ammendment by posting about my favorite team since apparently I shouldn't be since attendance is low. If there isn't a lot of other fans, why should I care what games we win and don't win, right?

No they are just content to steal from us. Case in point game one of the Cricket Cup when I was down there with some friends. I had my Dayton flag stolen by a few Cinci fans (whom I hadn't spoken to the entire night) Only got it back after a few on Cinci's finest chased them down because the arena security didn't see a need to try to stop them as they were running from the building laughing like a couple of drunk morons.
I digress, you seem to have missed the very point that I was trying to make. I did not intend to come on here to make fun of the Cyclones fan issues, I came here to make fun of the team and the city.
I was under the impression that that's what rival teams did to eachother.
On the same token after the final buzzer sounds on any given night I would love to go out and have a drink with any and all of you as I already have in Cinci a few times.
Anyway - if you are comming to Dayton - I'll be the guy with the big blue flag - come up and say hi - mabye we can get a beer after (or during) the game.
Again, basic ethics of an Internet message forum. Make a long post about with one opposition, expect to get a long post back with an opposing response. Not "sriking a nerve."
I did hear about you getting your flag stolen at the first game here and I even got heckled on IntoTheBoards for it just because I was a Cincinnati fan, and didn't even make that game. I never condone any of that type of behavior, that's not what a rivalry atmosphere is supposed to be portrayed. This was really a case of a sore thumb though, it only takes one rowdy drunk fan to do something stupid and ruin it for the rest of us. However, not everyone is going to take liking to you doing things like coming to a teams' message boards just because you thought that' show a rivalry should be handled. And then, if you showcase that kind of attitude, don't wonder why people might fire back at Dayton fans. I did and still know a lot of fans in Dayton who have but not any problem with.
I make trips up to the 'ole Nutter numerous times during the season, in fact I think I'm going this Saturday. I hope to enjoy myself peace fully with my group of Cyclones fans. |

I'm not going to condone stealing someone's flag, but if you act in person the way to do on our message board, you probably deserved to get your flag stolen. On a lighter note, next weeks game here is 18 and over night so at least none of your players should get arrested while here.
Oh he definitely acts like that in person! But no one should take the flags! If you can be safe from flag theft in Muskegon, you should definitely not have to worry about it in Nati! |

This is an enjoyable debate to watch, as I was born and raised in Dayton and moved to Cinci after college. My folks still live in Dayton. So I always loved the Dayton/Cinci hockey rivalry. I am going to the game saturday with my Dad and some friends. He used to go all the time when the Bombers were at Hara Arena.
Jericho, so you're the one with the flag. I always thought that was pretty cool. I just hope I dont see it wave much during the games. |

I have nothing important to add. I just like posting really long and pointless posts. And since se can quote previous posts, it makes it just that much easier to write long post because it means that I don't have to come up with anything original or anything, and it is still a really, really long post and people have to scroll through lots of meaningless quotes because it's not like anybody can scroll back a post or two to see what the roginal post is, and now I am in the middle of a really long run-on sentence, and I just can't stop! |
