Canadiens acquire B. Geoffrion, R. Slaney, and 2nd round draft pick in 2012 from NSH for H. Gill and a conditional 5th round pick in 2013

| Somehow Slaney was suited up for the Cyclones tonight which was a big help and a complete surprise. He is probably on borrowed time though. I can't recall a player getting traded but staying with the original affiliates minor league team. There's a first time for everything I guess. |

I was surprised by that, too. I had to double check the transaction to make sure I hadn't read it wrong. It would be nice to hold on to him.

According to the AHL transactions Slaney has been recalled and assigned to Hamilton.
